I did a job in a house a couple of months ago that had either walnut colored stained or nicotine-stained OSB with probably a shellac finish on it, in the living room. It was unique

This house was built in 1955. The wood floors are an awesome Oak and we've worked hard to keep them up. All the original cabinets were custom built as were the doors and trim around them. They were all shellac'd and were pretty relic'd when we moved in. We added an addition and an upstairs in 2005; including remodeling the kitchen and bathrooms in the original part. The room I'm doing and two more are all that remains of the 1955 finishes. Once I've replaced the doors and frames and painted the rooms the whole house will be pretty much updated. Have to keep those floors, but will probably have them refinished at some point as they have years of wear on them.

    OK it's done

These are pictures I took earlier today. Finally finished, everything is back up and running and this is what she looks like. Have to say it looks nice but sounds the same and a lot of my stuff has been moved to storage. Still my room though.

Looks very good mate, you've done a great job.

Is the baby gate in photo 3 there to keep you in or the dogs out? :p

I'm lucky enough to share mine with Mandy Marie so maybe it's 50/50 but our whole house is like a man cave :)

The. beauty of it is that gigging with Groove Hammer pays for ALL my musical toys, so there's never an argument!

It is! The best part about unpacking was "I've got one of those! I've got one of those, too!" - it was kinda creepy :)

I loooove the floors in the house and think you did a great job with the room! Still drooling over the floor!
