Hi @Woodnote . I have one I bought new for £501 when they came out. I bought another for my daughter second-hand, £300, two years ago.
I don't think the model has any special appeal except to Wilko fans, really. It's a Classic '60s with a single-ply red pickguard, great guitar IMO but not high up the range.

Welcome to the forum, the ones I have seen sell on eBay fetch around £350 to £400, which is about the same money you would get for a MIM Classic '60s, which is basically what it is. It was not available when I wanted one so I made my own from an '80s MIJ Tele.

Don't know why this post was moved to here, as the Wilko Tele, is a legitimate Fender.

Please move my post back to where I put it as my guitar is a genuine Fender with the correct serial number.

Hi thanks for comment. I am at a loss why my post has been moved. It is a genuine Fender with serial number etc.
I've contacted the mods, hopefully they will move it back. I had a Wilko back in 2013, but shifted it on when I decided I wouldn't buy signature models anymore.

I wouldn't worry about it mate, you got your answer if you are selling it you'll be lucky to get much more than £300.
It's not something most guitarist's are gonna want I wouldn't imagine, a MIM Tele with a red guard is all it is.

I agree, although a little low in price maybe at £300. I've seen them go for around the £400 - £500 mark. Me I would hang on to it, they are nice Tele's, but then again, so are the classic 60s series.

I agree. though I will say, I bought mine for £360 used but sold it for £560 a year ago.

The person that bought it really wanted wanted one and they are not often for sale. So as ever it's about how much someone wants one.

Is it the same as a Classic 60? Mine were not identical the neck carve was different. Not dramatically, but they were not the same.

Back when I had both, I made a direct side by side comparison with the Classic 60 to prove or not that it was identical.

I posted this then:

https://www.tdpri.com/threads/wilko-tele-tuxedo-transformed.676084/

extract

..... playing my (2010, Oly white) Classic '60s and 2013 Wilko Tele side by side, I can say that there are 3 differences between them. Obviously, the distinctive ("hideous", "garish", wonderful... whatever) red guard and the “Wilko” signature on the rear of the headstock being two, but, less obviously, the neck profile is quite different. With these examples at least, the Wilko neck has a little extra girth. Compare the two. Maybe the Wilko Tele is more distinct from the Classic '60s than I had supposed.

Didn't Fender do two runs ? So more than 200 were produced, but still limited.

Interesting comparison, @rze99 , I've never seen a side-by-side of the two models.
I must admit I thought the neck was pretty skinny, but very playable. But the Classic 60's is thinner ?
It looks like the Wilko has more rounded shoulders on the neck profile.

Yes, the Wilko I had, the neck profile was closer to my '64 AVRI - 60's shape, slimmer at the nut broadening and thickening toward the heel. It was very nice. Mine had a lovely quality rosewood board too, was a nice medium weight and resonated nicely.

Aside form the Poly finish and the slightly lacking bridge Mex pickup, it was a very nice model well put together.

I replaced the bridge pickup with a Bare Knuckles Yardbird and put a tort guard on it and compensating saddles. Tell me it doesn't look cool... ;)

Returned it to stock when I sold it.

I’m a fussy bugger about tort. I only like it when I like it. It has to look classic and right for that specifically.

I’ve had PM offers on that particular tort guard.

I picked it up used and cheaply - no idea where it’s from. But people want that look according to my feedback.

It’s currently on a charcoal frost build and it looks to dogs doo dahs.
