Tell her it is a place to hide your likker at work so the other Baptist Church folk don't going looking for it. After a hard day of listening to other peoples' problems and them not taking advice, it will come in handy.

That’s an extremely cool thing for $40.

    You did good.

It looks nearly perfect. I wonder why they took the speakers out.

    You did extra good.

So freakin' cool. Who cares what your wife thinks when you got an anonymous guy from across the country thinking that you're one smooth operator who just scored big time.

I'm considering running for office someday maybe. Here's one draft item from my protoplatform:

"Everybody in the US and the UK, that legitimately completes 10th grade, should be presented with a (taxpayer funded) Marshall 4x12 cabinet, with speakers in it."

This would: incentivize students to keep being students, foster the arts, induce some quality focus on forestry and mining, employ craftspeople and transporters, enhance international relations with a key partner, and be a valuable trade-good.

Possible addition: Each US/UK resident would be allowed to own, sell, or trade up to 8 of these (every month) tax-free and without any paperwork.

The key is to make it a regular thing. Pick up a new cabinet once in a while. Stack them up. Mention casually that you need to add 1-2 more to balance things out aesthetically. Bring up what a great deal you're about to score on eBay during dinner. As if there was nothing to it. Everyone has a speaker wall, right?

This is how I ended up with 40 guitars in my apartment.

My first thought is stick a blue tooth speaker type device in it, use it with your cell phone. Everyone will be puzzled!

TheGoodTexan, I say this with a straight face -- I used to have a Marshall JCM 800 full stack (head/slant/straight) that I used for gigs and stayed at home with me in between. (This was 20 yrs ago) I would put it in the basement of my condo, where i rehearsed...and had a home office.

The full height came within about 1" of the ceiling in the basement. And, as I explained to my wife, a Marshall stack is a musical STATEMENT of who you are as a musician! I also argued that it really qualified as "Pop Art" since it was iconic and was the first thing you saw on a major concert stage when you went to a live show! Hendrix, Page, etc etc.

I stand by that 100% even today.

Having said that, last month, someone put up a Peavey 5150 4 x 12 on Craigslist for $50. Completely intact, fully functional, tolex was rough....he had given up the band scene and just wanted it gone! Hell, the CAB (empty) was worth that! I called the guy, he was 10 BLOCKS AWAY! LOL! So you KNOW that pup came home with me. My wife completely understood. And it looks great right next to my Marshall Half Stack (what is left of the full stack from 20 yrs ago.) Ha!
