I've read a bit here about WRHBs (original Seth Lover) in the neck position, but haven't heard much about how people like them in the bridge position, especially compared to the venerable (and venerated) single coils, 50s-80s and beyond.

For context, I tend to enjoy the "menacing" sound of the bridge WRHB, as in the example below, can a single coil get that sound? (Not a whole lot of alteration was done to that Tele Deluxe beyond a bit of limiting and maybe a sprinkle of extra digital reverb to complement the amp. It's going through a BF Deluxe Reverb on maybe 4ish.

I'd love to hear people's thoughts on single coil vs WRHB bridge.

I have a '72 Thinline reissue with two WRHB pickups. I don't think of the bridge pickup as being particularly menacing. I do think the double humbuckers are quite versatile, though. Not as limiting as a single coil sound.
