Why would a 335 sound different than a Les Paul?

Let's be real: a 335 looks like it should sound different from a Les Paul. So our eyes hear the difference, and our ears are convinced by our eyes.

The vibration analysis studies I have reference to are specifically for solid-body instruments. Resonance in the supporting structure affects the vibration of the strings, and so the amplified sound. Although it is the neck rather than the body that has the greatest effect, which is why certain solid-body basses in particular have dead spots.
Would you mind providing some sort of link(s) to those studies? I would like to make sure that we are discussing the same thing before replying to you observation.
Thank you very much.

I can hear the difference. I have 5 LPs and four Es-335 and 345s. I play through decent amps. I find the difference is as obvious as a rat turd in a sugar bowl.

If you can't hear the difference I feel sorry for you but it doesn't change the fact that I can. Flame away.
