U--G--L--Y, you ain't got no alibi,
You ugly! Hey... Hey... You ugly!
I'd take an antigua before a paisley.
2.5 decades ago, the first time I saw an antigua Coronado pictured in the back pages of one mainstream guitar mag or another, I absolutely hated it. Felt the same way about Steely Dan at that time too. I have since corrected both issues.
Sorry, ugly. Which means I might like it about 5 years from now.
Personally I like it, especially on the f-hole models
I'd take the relic every single time, unless the relic was also antigua.
The older ones are more yellowish... mine (2012) is more of a green and gray blend, or "grayeen" as I say.
Can’t say that I would agree with that sentiment.
Sorta looks like zombie make-up.
Right there. That's why. Clowns with jaundice. Aging lemons.
I don't love Antigua because I don't like it.
Good friend of mine had an Antigua Strat back in '78. Probably the best sounding Strat I've ever heard, to this day. Really great guitarist from a small country town. He was doing mostly Hughie Thomassen inspired with it through 112 Music Man. Just unbelievably stunning toanz. We named that guitar, The Grey Ghost. New, it was more Silverburst than anything green.
Dude still has the neck from that guitar on about the 20th Strat, since.
Thanks! That was interesting.
Personaly, I don't care for it. But it wouldn't stop me from buying one if I liked the guitar
I guess some people like that 'delapidated 1950s mental hospital' blend of colours
I am not one of those people
I could live with an Antique Tele , if it had a black guard
I was kind of going for it a little bit with this one... but the burst was too dark, not enough toner
If the OP were born in the sixties he'd know the answer. The whole feeking kitchen utility room, bleeck..
I don't dislike them. Some aren't bad, but in the big picture there's reason they are called 'snotburst'
That Paisley tele is nice!!!
But ANtigua, nope.
I can usually find something to like in anything....Antigua, not so much.
Looks like some sorta diseased guitar. Jawndust or sumpth'n.
I can totally see why people hate them, just makes me want one more. Antigua Jazzmaster? Yes please
