Just wondering why Boss hasn‘t given the TR2 the Waza treatment. Could it be because there is nothing in the TR2 circuit that would benefit in any way or is it something else.

just curious.

And what would the Waza-mode on the TR-2 entail? More wave shapes for tremolo?
An option for true bypass like on the KTR?

I have no inside info on the subject but my guess is that way more pedals get Waza:d already than
there would be an actual demand for. I mean, sure, if a pedal is popular then keep cranking it out
and make a profit. Nothing bad there. I'm just doubtful that Waza has that much to add in every case...

Boss TU-3w, anyone?

I have no idea why that one has any appeal. Why spend twice as much as an excellent Polytune?
Well... it is black(ooh-aah style factor) and it has that Blue Death Ray™ -LED which lights up when a string is in tune
and makes sure you're blind for the next five minutes. Yay, Waza...

TBF though... somebody on here defended that Blue Death Ray™ -LED on the TU-3w saying that it's very visible
during outside gigs when the sun is shining.

Only thing is... I can understand that application.. fine... but when I turn the Waza-mode off I should get my non-blinding
red(or was it green) LED back!

But on the whole... I can't wrap my head around the TU-3w.

The Seymour Duncan Shape Shifter has a control that affects how much time the tremolo spends rising vs. falling. That's a neat one.

I agree. They seem to be releasing more complex pedals like the SY synths and things like the Slicer right now.

I’ve had full sun on my board at a gig. The Polytune display is totally visible. And the polyphonic tuning feature is fantastic.

Because polytune switches fail.
Hmm….never heard that. My Polytune is five years old, working perfectly. I also have the HyperGravity compressor pedal around that old, no problems. Plus, I recently sold a seven year old Helicon, which was used and abused…all three switches worked well.

If they never touched the TR-2, it would just keep selling forever.

That said, I'd LOVE a tap tempo function, even though that's not really the kind of thing they've done with the Waza stuff - Boss seems to be more into massaging the tones. I could see maybe a waveform warp for sawtoothy sounds. Maybe a blinky light for a rate indicator. An extra output for panning like on that Boss panning pedal, the name of which escapes me at the moment. Perhaps external volume? Again though, I don't think they're adding many knobs to these boxes - more just a little switch.
