In my opinion Kemper with killer profiles is the top dog in this digital tone game.

Imagine a small Kemper combo around the size of the Katana 100. This little Kemper would have no profiling, it would just load all the killer profiles. Similar to all the other amps with only a few effects available and be able to use deep editing for all those goodies.

    Under $500??? or under $1000???

This could become the best small combo out there by a mile?

    Come on Christoph,,,

I think he doesn't want to separate the profiler from the amp. But I don't need profiling so I don't want the profiler section. With people like Michael Britt making profiles far superior to what I could ever do.

There will always be people that will use and want the profiler, but the combo if priced right would absolutley be the hit of the party.

It would make Christoph very rich imo. I bet Michael Britt is doing pretty well feeding off the Kemper by creating the heart of the tone in profiles.

I also wonder if Christoph knew people would take over the profile. If Britt isn't working with Christoph then I think he's hurting Christoph. I don't know. It's an interesting biz situation for sure

To address the most critical point, it's not really beneficial to have a Kemper that only loads profiles, as running them and creating them both utilize the exact same software. Similar situation with the effects-they all run on the same OS as the profiling, so again no real cost reduction there.

Next up: Kemper does now have their own 1x12 cabinet, with a speaker designed in conjunction with Celestion. It is used along with software in the unit itself to mimic many popular speakers, and from all reports I have seen they hit it out of the park with it.

I don't think we'll ever see anything from Kemper in the $500 price range, as their focus has always been a different market. Kinda like asking Porsche to build a car to compete with a Toyota Corolla.

Screw it together somehow, and it would be a pretty lightweight combo :p

I can't believe how light/small.... awesome this thing is!

This is what I believe: They are smart with their marketing and planning and want to keep their value high. A digital combo would put them in the same category with Line 6, Boss, and other "common" (but quite good) digital combo amps.

Considering the regular Kemper and the Kemper floor cost about $1800 the chance of a combo under $500 or $1000 is ZERO.
Under $2500 would be the price.

They only want to operate in the premium market, like a number of other companies.

What would be a really great idea for companies that do compete in the more affordable end of the market would be a head that combined tubes with a load box and built-in IR cabinet loader for easy home use with the flexibility for live playing.

    Can't stop me from wishing.
Regardless how wishy washy a wish it was.

I had a small setup like Informal has in post 7 but I had a different cab.

It does it really well IMO.... I have access to quite a few cabs, and A/B'd them with the Kemper... Mostly with FRFR. Since getting the Kemper Kab, I only have a few comparisons, but it got even better.

My Kemper rack is powered, but the QSC allows me to run the cabs in stereo. Not quite a grab & go, but it does do a good job of sounding like a full Marshall stack!

That's the controller for the rack. I was intrigued by the Floor, but it doesn't really bring anything to the table that the rack doesn't already have.
