Why do you post without reading the whole thread?

Give 'em the beans!
You know, I've posted some pretty silly answers to this thread, because it was actually begging for them! ;) I will tell you this, trying to control what others do, is an exasperating endeavor. I think you will need to invest a LOT of time and money to make even a tiny difference in the way people do things. Having a reaction to what OTHER people do is pretty much time well wasted. I ran a tractor repair facility for three and a half years, just getting the crew all going in somewhat the same direction required a monumental amount of resolve. and I was the BOSS!
Oh, agreed. Control is something I need to work on, and while, yes, everyone SHOULD post on the internet the way I think they should, I realize that's never going to happen.

I do things the way I do because it makes the most sense to me. If others do things in a way that doesn't make sense to me, I have two options.
1. I can tell them why my way is better and that they should do it my way. This has been super effective and I have fixed all the world's problems in less than 18 months.
2. I can ask why they do it their way, which helps me accept my lack of control and, possibly gain a new tool/insight/perspective

I really appreciate your efforts regarding the world and fixing ALL of the world's problems! In only eighteen months too! I wondered why they kept delivering stuff to my door, and saying, nothing to sign, it's all free! Thanks Bro!

Some questions are just invitations to get into a pissing contest.
Some question are worth a response,
some questions are self selling
some questions are not questions at all some question need a fire plug
some question tell more about the person asking that the question itself
Other times people just want you to agree with them and do things their way

Does getting the same useful answer 4x make it any less useful or does it mean that it's a generally accepted answer?

There are very few issues or questions on these forums that have never come up before. The same thing that has 50 people asking the same question has 10 people providing the same answer.
One might ask instead,
Why don't those in search of specific answers first do a search to see if their query has already been answered?
I read somewhere that the average person has to do something 21 times before they remember the entire procedure.
Perhaps multiple postings of the same answer is a way for them to learn?
