I've had two Orange Crushes - the 35Rt and the Pro 60 combo. Both good amps in certain ways with some serious drawbacks for my taste. They were a little dark with humbuckers and while the clean and crunch sounds were really good, the edge-of-breakup was weird. It would produces these weird raspy, crackly sounds at edge of breakup, but inconsistently. It was very distracting for me. So I sold them each after a while.

But I do like some of the iconic vintage Orange sounds and I seem to like the Orange mojo. It's fun to show up at a blues jam with a "heavy metal amp."

So now I"m looking again. That Super Crush 100 is intriguing and reviewers seem to say it's better at that edge of break up sound than other Crush amps. The Rockerverb combo is too much for me -too much money, too much weight. The Rocker is too limited on the clean channel. I've tried them and I don't like it.

Maybe I should try an OR15? Or maybe just get a Crush 35 again because it's cheapish and it's not going to be my main amp. Or maybe I should recognize that I've been down this road and stop wasting my money.

If you didn't like it 1st time why buy one again ? What's important to you is what's important not internet opinions, budget, tone, features, easy of use, size, weight all play into my choice when buying an amp. It's your call have fun in your search & good luck.

I had the small Orange tube rocker that did both clean and OD well.
Did Marshall better than Marshall.
Opposite for me. I had an AD30 head that I liked a lot. It looked cool and was solidly built. It sounded… OK. It sounded better with an SD-1, though. More Marshally. I admitted to myself I like Marshall sound more. So I traded it for a Marshall.

I have a Crush 60 Pro…probably haven’t played it loud enough to hear what OP found? Sounds good to me.

In any event…another way to some Orange tones is a pedal if you have the right amp. I have the Joyo Oxford Sound that convinced me to go ahead and get an amp. YMMV.

I associate Orange amps with dark, heavy music, which is cool, but I’m more drawn to Fender, which I associate with reverb-drenched, garage, surfy music…
I guess I’m less PJ Harvey

No Tiny Terror yet? I feel like that one’s a given for Orange fans.

I’ve gigged with one before. I loved cranking the gain up and then using the guitar volume knob for clean. Particularly good for that. Also used it for a solo on my band’s EP. Just good tone.

You can get them for under $300 now used, kind of a no brainer. In fact makes me want one again!

I want the Rocker 32 combo.

Well, what I really want is another Magnatone Panoramic stereo head, but this with my SupaTrem 2 and a good spring reverb emulation pedal should get me close enough to there at nearly a couple g's less.

Fwiw, I know it's not a modern Orange, but I do own a Matamp GT150 which is an incredible sounding beast of an amp.

Their current designer is putting out some innovative products at good prices so I think that makes Orange definitely worth a look and a listen. If I were interested in a traditional amp the Orange SuperCrush would be high on my list, although one downside is that its speaker emulation direct out is reportedly pretty atrocious.

Their Pedal Baby is also interesting for someone who wants to build a rig around it...one could have a pedalboard with a GE-7 on it for EQ, going into the PedalBaby and from there into a cab. Very light weight and reportedly sounds excellent. Something to compete with Quilter, DV Mark, etc.

I'm sure Matt Pike would love your Matamp.

I had a Rockerverb Mk II 50W head and an Avatar Fender style 4x12 in a band that did a lot of outdoor gigs in far-flung places...live sound was always a bit of a lottery so it was nice to have that half stack. Another one of those 'why did I ever sell it' amps especially as in hindsight the clean channel was excellent.

I had severe GAS for a Rocker 32 a few years back but held off or had other priorities.

My main amp for years. Perfect for any kind of RAWK. Dreadful cleans. But with an OD pedal, I could go from the Stones to Soundgarden. A treble booster goes a long way with an Orange amp.

I have the combo now, but use a Rocker 15 Terror more. I like the Natural channel for a clean tone, but admit it needs an EQ pedal to get sweet.

I also have a Wampler Catapulp 'amp in a pedal'. Very nice. The active controls make it an extremely versatile pedal. Again, from the Stones to Soundgarden. The Tech 21 Sansamp Oxford was a neat pedal, but I didn't need it when I got rid of it. The Joys Oxford sound is a really weak clone by comparison. I flipped it in a day.
