I actually lurked in Amp Central Station exclusively for about a year
before I even realized there was anything else to check out.

    yesh, I am an idiot.

once I saw what was happening around these parts I signed up and
have been offering all of y'all my crackpot theories and feeble attempts
at humor ever since! (thanks, you've been a great crowd.. I'm here
all week - be sure to try the prime rib!!
    )

there's a ton of knowlege available right here in one place at the touch
of a key and some incredibly talented folks who make some guitars so
purdy a man could set right down and cry.. plus a real, sincere feeling
of community as well. I love finding common ground with folks all over
the world about stuff like Jimmie Vaughan Strats, Blues Juniors or
whatever! I like that there are plenty differing opinions represented
as well as a gathering of people of every age, race, sex, and/or belief
system; who can all get together to marvel at how Mister Leo Fender
hit one right outta the park his first time at bat!
    it's little things like
this that give me hope sometimes, ya know?

MandyMarie's digital love story has touched my blackened little heart as I'd
met my own true love on ferschlugginer MySpace, of all the strange places!

Back in the original TDP days somehow I found it surfing at work which was something we had to do on the sly back then. Being a Tele player, I got hooked and found a great community of like minded guitar geeks. I got in trouble for being on line at work and didn't come around for a while and forgot my password. Then I believe I got an e-mail notice that it had become the TDPRI and I've been around here ever since. (Formerly pablomago) What was once an secret thrill has become an old habit.

i joined because ever since i got on the internet i have been looking for an online hang out for the kind of guys who used to sit around the local music store and jam on saturday mornings when i was coming up. guys who can play their asses off without being dicks about it and were always happy to show us dumb ass rock and rollers their licks.

i also like that this place doesn't smell of clearasil.

I don't often spit beer (or coffee, a.m or p.m. depending) but you owe me 1/2 a McTarnahan's Mr. Terry...

I joined because the original TDP shut down (I started there in 1996 when I first hooked up to this here internet thing-was the first website I "joined"). At the time, I was playing primarily Teles.

Always been a great place with great people. And I still play a lot of Tele.

A luthier I know recommended the site as I had some questions about one of my teles... At first I was fairly intimidated to post much, since I am a hack amateur player, but enjoyed the site. Then I read a Johnny Crash thread about getting bourbon in his eye, and i thought, I can hang with these guys!!

It's been a great ride, I've learned a ton, and had a lot of laughs!

I lurked for a bit, just looking for tele info, and realized this would be a cool community to be part of. (of which to be part, for you grammarians)

I wanted to buy a Telecaster, was searching for info and came accross this place. I read LOADS of threads and thought what a friendly atmosphere this place had, just the kind of forum I've been looking for. Still a fantastic forum.

The Devil made me do it ... O.K., he didn't MAKE me, he only suggested. I take full responsibility, but not the blame.

    All things Tele..

The Tele was my first electric. If everything had to go tomorrow, I would keep my 68 Tele. It is almost my only guitar that survived a house fire 4 years ago. I think God was telling me to keep the Tele.

I don't even remember how I found this place, but I now get most of my news, Tele and otherwise, from here. I found out that John Mayer was dating Jennifer Anniston here before it was up on the Comcast internet page. You know--all the important stuff.

And we have a tour de france forum in July!

I'm with Mandy....this place is what it is because of all the great characters here. That, and Paul does a great job of keeping it all running smoothly. This was the first forum I ever really stumbled on, and I assumed that all forums had members who were so well mannered, respectful and even-tempered! Wrong! Apart from occasionally checking out the Steel Guitar Forum, this is the only place I really feel at home, even if I haven't posted for a while.
    Cheers guys,
    Deano

I peeked in after getting my first Tele, and discovered that all the pages were the same color as my Tele. So feeling kinda stealthy, I walked in, and nobody yelled at me, or told me to leave.

I think I'm still mostly invisible. Except I know Joel Terry and Getbent ordered those X-Ray glasses from the back of the magazine, so I had to join forces with them in order to stay safe.
