I joined in 1998 to ask a question about James Burton. I was 18 and it was probably only the second time I had ever been online. I posted my question and then asked if someone would mind e-mailing me the answer. I literally had about sixty e-mail the next morning from TDPers. I was in a serious rush and only opened ONE. ...I married the man who sent it a few years later.

That story still seriously freaks me out. I owe this board so much!

Because I'm lonely, and I like pie. We haven't had a pie discussion in awhile though.

i was doing a build in 1999 and had no clue about discussion boards, but i did an internet search for a Tele-related question and stumbled on the TDP. i immediately joined and got the answer to my question plus MUCH more by prowling the board!

that was a watershed moment for me, because in a town where Teles definitely did not rule, i realized I Am Not Alone!

One of my musician buddies sent me a link to the Cashcaster thread and I just stayed.

I just hit 3 years here earlier this month and it's still the best place on the internet. Thanks Paul!

    1. I had a Fender Telecaster and it was my favorite guitar.
    2. I love Fender guitars and amplifiers in general.
    3. This seemed like the most hoppin' guitar and music discussion board with the fewest trolls.
    4. The folks here have good taste in music and guitars.
    5. I needed a serious time waster in my life.

Every time I googled any question about a tele, I always wound up here. I finally decided to join and prowl and board for a bit. Thank God I did.

There used to be a British Fender forum, but that disappeared when Fender Europe was formed. I love electric guitars and wanted to continue to discuss my hobby with like minded individuals, so naturally signed up with the TDPRI.

Because I have a "Fender Telecaster", and I wanted to be a part of the Telecaster guitar player community.

I came here thanks to E-Merlin post a link on Peavey Amp forum site. Plus I was making the switch over to fender stuff anyway.

Tim-know what bloviate means. In my case it is pontificate!!!

Nah, actually I joined in the hopes that I could find a bridge pup for a 77 tele.
Still haven't found the pup, so if any of you......

I discovered the forum researching the Fender Super Champ XD. I was also in the market for my first telecaster and it was here I found out about the Squire Classic Vibe tele.

    1 reason
The site was about Fender Telecasters...an unavoidable, undeniable and illogicle obsession, that has plagued me since I began playing the guitar 41 years ago and saw my first 'plank', Hmmmm? I wonder if anybody else here can relate?
