Why are so many people cold on Ace Frehley?

The bigger the cushion, the sweeter the pushin
    That's what I said.
The looser the waistband, the deeper the quicksand
    Or so I have read.
My baby fits me like a flesh tuxedo.
I love to sink her with my pink torpedo.
    Big bottom
    Big bottom
    Talk about bum cakes,
    My gal's got 'em.
    Big bottom,
Drive me out of my mind.
How can I leave this behind?
I saw her on monday, twas my lucky bun day
    You know what I mean.
I love her each weekday, each velvety cheekday
    You know what I mean.
My love gun's loaded and she's in my sights
Big game's waiting there inside her tights

    Big bottom
    Big bottom
    Talk about mud flaps
    My gal's got 'em.
    Big bottom
Drive me out of my mind.
How can I leave this behind?

    Excellent knowledge of modern philosophy!
    Now intent DOES count.
Your example is from some snarky LA type comedians who are smarty pants' elitists (who secretly love KISS and their brethren)....

KISS believed in the power of the punani!

those comedian guys are probably wetting the bed while gene simmons is trodding in places that gregg allman soiled years ago.

Anyone who is against ACE... well, they don't understand his true greatness...

to the poster who said, "he was in the wrong band"... I agree! if he'd been in a bar band in Toledo, Sacramento, SLC, parts of Phoenix... he'd have been a legend (local) which would make him way cooler...

One of those comedian guys is married to Jamie Lee Curtis. Gene Simmons may have laid more pipe than the New York plumbers' union, but JAMIE LEE CURTIS... Gene wouldn't have a chance with her in seven lifetimes.

Ace and KISS are all about what you want from the music. They are fun, silly, awesome, talented, crass... by the nature of the words employed... pretty rock and roll in my mind.

With that however, he sacrifices credibility, depth, beauty, anger, angst... etc.

What do you want from your music? Ill take depth over fun, but that doesn't make me better or happier, for that matter

When I was thirteen, I thought KISS' lyrics were pretty cool. Now, thirty years later, they seem juvenile. So I guess that what I want from my music is something that I can relate to in some way, and the horny ranting of an oversexed teenager ain't it.

I tell you what. There was nothing sadder than watching the horror of Kiss (in costume mind you) approaching their 60's and still singing "Christine...sixteen,,,," unfold on TV one New Years Eve...
My wife was crying she was laughing so hard.
    That's pretty Spinal Tapesque!

They definitely knew how to cash in while playing cookie cutter rock. Not trying to hate, but its not like they were pioneers in any way, besides maybe the stage show. But even still Alice Cooper beat them to it by a decade. They definitely did something right being insanely popular for 40 years or more. I'll give them that.

I am a huuuge Rob Zombie fan and its not so much for the music. Even with John 5 writing the new material, everything Rob has done in the last 15 years has been the same cookie cutter albums. What I love about Rob is the jaw dropping stage show, big TV's, lights, fire, Fireworks, Go-Go Dancers, Robots, 10 minute John 5 solo at every show... Its sensory overload. I am assuming KISS is the same way for a lot of people.

Not to mention "that comedian guy" is actor/director Christopher Guest AKA The Earl of Haden-Guest. With all of Gene Simmons' money, a peerage is one thing he'll never get his hands on.

There was a statistic once that claimed Ace was the most influential guitarist of all times. This was based on how many kids were drawn to picking up the guitar in the Kiss heydays.
Whenever Kiss comes to Europe, I go see 'em with my kids. Still the best rock'n'roll show on earth!

I personally like Ace. He had some awesome riffs! Also had great taste in gutiars too.

His solo album was really good if you take a listen to it. Big Fan and someone above said not ground breaking or influential like (paste your favorite guitarist here) and said not influential to guitarist, but I agree with another poster, drew many a you aspiring teenager to play guitar in the 70's. For us that grew up in the 70's, Kiss was huge. As a young guitar player, I knew some Kiss tunes, probably would have asked who is Led Zepelin if someone mentioned them.

I was just discussing this with my 10-year-old daughter the other day as we watched "Halloween."

Maybe it will never be a masterpiece of musical composition or virtuosity, but how can you NOT like Eugene?

Right. Snopes takes a schoolmarmy tone, but only says that it has never been confirmed. Curtis has refused to confirm or deny, and she has said that she always knew she could never have children. Certainly Hollywood rumors rise above others, and this is one of them.

I wonder if she might be a case of pseudohermaphroditism, similar to the one depicted in the "House" episode "Skin Deep."

When Ace was soloing, his guitar would get so hot that smoke would come out of it. No one else could do that, not even Craig Chiquico.

Does anyone know if Ace Frehley ever married that blond girl he was engaged to a couple of years ago? Or did they split up?
