Remember, everything you see on tv is fake.
EXCEPT for Hawaii Five-0, the old ones, with Elvis

    That stuff is real

Of the ones I listed I would have to go with Rockford but I love to watch Barnaby Jones just to watch Lee Meriwether who was also one of the Catwoman in the Batman show

I've always liked Paul Drake on Perry Mason. He was pretty suave , had a way with the ladies and could take care of himself . Drove some cool cars too , T-Birds and 'Vettes . He always said to Della " Hello beautiful ! "

I had a car nearly identical to this one except mine was a Firebird Esprit. I should have kept that car...

My Dad and I watched Kojak and The Rockford files in the 70's. So those guys have a place in my heart. But my personal favorite was Magnum PI. Loved that show .

The only private detective I remember was Frank Marker (played by Alfred Burke) in Public Eye.

My father had the Rockford Firebird back then. So, that one was always my fave.

Superhero’s and spies don’t count although a superhero and spies of the 60’/70’s thread would be cool

I guess there’s no love for Cannon?

This is supposed to be about private detectives--not tha copz.

So several other nominees mentioned here here don't qualify ;)

    Mannix, for two reasons:

    1. The best theme song and the coolest incidental music.

    2. Gail Fisher. SMOKIN' hot, and one tough woman!
