I'd never even heard of it until a busking video of NELL popped up in my thread the other day. Some very talented young people over there.

I like a lot of music from anime and old video games.

I have no idea what a kpop group is. However, if those videos are any indication, I would think that one would have outgrown them before the age of 25. It's kind of strange for an adult to be into this. Or am I missing something here.

Yeah it is all a bit Lou Pearlman creepy on one side and Kim Fowley creepy on the other.
    Catchy stuff, though

You mean you are supposed to LISTEN to this "music"?
I thought it was only to LOOK at...(not that there is actually anything to see but anyway)

i honestly don't know too much about k-pop, the examples i found are too close to american pop for my taste. or a lot of it sounds a little too "low budget" or something when compared to japanese stuff.

i am a huge fan of japanese pop from the 60s all the way to now though.

i saw these ladies play in their first US concert. they have a lot of really awesome YMO or kylie minogue style stuff. great arrangement too. the guy who writes for them started out making hip shibuya kei in the 90s before working on mainstream j-pop stuff. i guess most people know his work on the kyary stuff because of katy perry.

they kind of succumbed to the americanized vibe and are IMHO kind of on the decline though, so i really would like to know some k-pop stuff like this that has more of a synthpop vibe. or like some of their other stuff, with longer chord progressions and nice voicings that a lot of j-pop is known for (i think marty friedman pointed this out once).

i thought this kpop jam was a banger when it came out, but it's already old news now 11 years on:

and i would think that most boomers would have outgrown guys who unintentionally look like grandmas jumping around and flailing their groins singing about chicks and not driving 55 or whatever, but here we are. people who live in glass houses. no shame, my dude, music is music. i think someone like our friend mr. beato would agree.
