I really like Barney. I think it's because I hear some blues in there, along with his mentor Charlie Christian. He's not afraid to bend a string. And his Poll Winners albums with Shelly Manne and Ray Brown are at the top of my list. I loved them as a teenager, and I love them now.

Kessel, Pass, Metheny, Coryell, Montgomery, Christian, etc. The list is long.
Guthrie Govan plays some really nice jazz, although he isn't a traditional 'jazz' guitarist.

Favorite? I find myself frequently listening to a lot of Wes and earlier Barney Kessel, his 50s stuff. I like Barney's later music as well but his 50s stuff floats my boat.

Beside that.... I marvel at Joe Pass and enjoy Kenny Burrell but those first two are my faves.

Man that is tough. Wes is a perennial favorite for sure, but Joe Pass, Django, Charlie, all have their own wondrous charm for sure.
