I've been on this forum for just over a year, and live where there are few people , never mind enthusiasts of Leo's best 6 stringed plank.
I also rarely leave the house (last out on 10th December) so my chances of meeting someone I've first known from this place are slim.

However, I'm sure some of you will have met somebody you first knew from here, by accident, by attending a gig, or even by arrangement.
The only incident I know of so far was the London lads putting a TDPRI jam together last year.

So who's met who?
Any good anecdotes?

Being a surly shut, in meeting others from anywhere holds a low place on my priorate's.
Just because I started the Church Of the Misanthropic Nihilist doesn't mean I am without the social graces, I just carefully use them, and need I add sparingly with great judiciousness.
The only thing about people that can be said about the company of some, others , is that watching oil paint dry is often preferable, which says nothing about others, and reems about myself , which is my favorite subject .

My big moment? When I was about 12 years old, I spotted Danny Thomas having coffee at a diner in DC. I went up to him and told him I was in love with his daughter. He signed my napkin.

I ran into myself once, a couple of years back. Chance meeting at the bathroom mirror while shaving. Although it was brief, I can't say I was overly impressed, to be honest.

Not planning any future encounters if I can help it. I'll probably cross the road if I see myself coming around the bend.

As a painter, I commend you on specifying oil paint. Though I probably don't know you. Unless I met you when I lived in San Francisco from 1990 through 1994. I kind of wish I did.

Lil' Ed Williams of Lil' Ed and the Blues Imperials. Late August, 2003 or 2004 (forget which) on a Saturday night after Lil' Ed and the Blues Imperials had played at the Edmonton (Alberta) Labatt Blues Festival earlier that day. Played a set (as a duo) of blues standards in the bar of the hotel where the blues artists were staying.
I've mentioned it before here and there should be a photo somewhere.

Nobody from this site. Known players I have met and had opportunities to play with there have been a few. I am happy as a "solo" performer in life these days. I really enjoy it. I don't really have the urge to meet people these days.
