I've been on this forum for just over a year, and live where there are few people , never mind enthusiasts of Leo's best 6 stringed plank.
I also rarely leave the house (last out on 10th December) so my chances of meeting someone I've first known from this place are slim.

However, I'm sure some of you will have met somebody you first knew from here, by accident, by attending a gig, or even by arrangement.
The only incident I know of so far was the London lads putting a TDPRI jam together last year.

So who's met who?
Any good anecdotes?

Yes, I real nosey bbbblighter.

I ran into Johnny Cash.
Sometime in the 70's in a Pizza Hut of all places.
I was in line paying at the register. He was standing right behind me but I didn't
notice him and when I turned around to leave I ran right into him.
He was very nice and I was embarrased to say the least.
My friends saw it and laughed.
I will never live it down.

I’ve met Jakedog (twice), Big Bend, Leon Grizzard, bigbean, Chris S., E5RSY, helicopterjim, txfiddler, and Redd Volkaert.
I’ve played gigs with Chris, Leon and txfiddler.
Great guys, great players!
P.S.
@helicopterjim took two bandmates and I on a great helicopter ride over the Liard River in Watson Lake, Yukon Territory.
I saw @Jakedog play bass in two different, great bands.
He also played in The Outriders, the band I toured western Canada in, right after my tenure.
@bigbean came to hear me play bass at my then regular gig, at Donn’s Depot, with Donn.
He picked a fun night, actor Dennis Quaid sat in and did a couple of Jerry Lee Lewis tunes.

Mjark and I played in a group for a short stretch, and we've also crossed paths at jams over the past...almost...20? years. WOW.

Pete Baker and I have known each other as long...maybe longer.

There are others, but I will not divulge their association with me in absence of their prior consent out of respect for their reputations 😬

I don't think I've actually met anyone from TDPRI, yet.

Over the years, a few members in the D.C/MD/Northern Virginia area have contacted me or inquired about coming out to my gigs & say "Hi!"
Someday, I hope.
( but now, I just need gigs! Winter sucks)

I don’t know how many here I have met. Even though I was never what you would call popular, I did play music from my twenties to my forties and met thousands of people along the way.

I met Redd, Paul Burlison, Deke, Bill Kirchen, Jim Campilongo, Pete Anderson and several other well-known guitarists. I definitely felt like I was in the presence of greatness with those guys.

Probably the one I wish I had talked to was Danny Gatton. He is my favorite and I saw him twice before he died.

None that I know of. Not many members in the middle of Ohio. In fact, Cleveland and Cincinnati are where the 2 Ohio people I see on here the most are located. Technically, Bootstrap pickups are the physically closest users to me, barring whoever I don't know about/aren't super active.
Ohio isn't as "long" as Florida or CA, not as big as Texas (which might as well be 3 separate states, or 2 and you add the east chunk to Louisiana....) But you essentially "self identify" as being near Cleveland, Cincinnati, or Columbus. Marietta is practically WV, and I'm not trying to dismiss Youngstown, or Toledo, but I've met more musicians from Canton/Akron or Dayton than those holes, so as I say, the 3 C cities are what matter.

Cleveland seems to have the best gigging environment (judging from my drummers other band's pre-2020 bookings) so I doubt most members will be gigging in Columbus, barring me.

Had a few as fares when I drove a taxi in the 80's and 90's. Steve Miller, John McEuen, Dave Grohl, Mike Gordon, Billy Peterson, and ( ..... Drum roll.....) Insane Clown Posse lol (sans makeup).

Non music related, Art Linkletter, Gary Stevens, Jimmy the Greek. Stan Musial, Paul Horning, Lenny Lyles.

Just missed Tony Curtis. He hopped in the cab in front of me.

I guess my favorite was Steve Miller. Picked him up at Guitar Emporium in Louisville to take him back to his hotel. He bought an Irish 8 string instrument similar to a mandola. He didn't know how to play it yet but tried to on the way. How many people can say they heard Steve Miller noodle on an unfamiliar instrument sitting in the back seat of a taxi ?

Billy Peterson his bass player at the time ordered a taxi later the day leaving a restaurant. Told me Steve snuck out on the band and went to Guitar Emporium by himself to have dibs lol. Billy hooked me up with two free tickets to the show the following night.

No one. I think they spot me first.

I’ve met a lot of TDPRIers, but they don’t know it, because I have the power to cloud men’s minds.
No. I haven't met anyone. Sometimes I think it's the TDPRI T Shirt. Other times I see folks from a distance and think maybe that's ...... but my mind always seems to get clouded to a point that I just can't be sure. "Was that? Hmm. I thought maybe ....... Why am I here? Where was I going? .. Where's my dog? I'm sure I had a dog.""

My big moment? When I was about 12 years old, I spotted Danny Thomas having coffee at a diner in DC. I went up to him and told him I was in love with his daughter. He signed my napkin.
