Phil Keaggy sings like the perfect blend of Lennon/McCartney. And he can play.

The always overlooked Terry Kath. Heard here playing his “Pignose Tele” with Pete Cetera in the top 20 hit Dialog Parts 1&2. He also sang lead vocals on Make Me Smile, Free and the prom classic, Colour My World.

The title seems to confuse most answers. The question is about musicians who are great guitar players *and* great singers. Not about great guitar players who also sing.

But hey, this is TDPRI, so anything goes........ even excessive use of periods.

You guys are pretty darn generous with the "great singer" category that's for sure. Being great at singing and at playing the guitar at the same time is super duper rare, I think. Prince & Joni Mitchell, ok fine. Neil Young and Waylon Jennings, ok, sure, in their own unique ways. James Taylor and some other real good singers are pretty good rhythm players.

SRV and Billy Gibbons great singers? Hmmm. Gonna agree to disagree!

Are you referring to The US Festival? 1983, not 1982 (Although the first US Festival was in 1982) I was there! I became a fan that day.....His solo was so fun to watch and listen to.....It had been such a long, hot, loud day.....Triumph went on as the Sun started to go down and the day cooled off.....and their music was somewhat mellower than the preceding acts......It was such a nice break before we got blasted again by The Scorpions and Van Halen

    Freddie King for the win.

I like that Jerry Garcia early 70’s vote.

The guy from Triumph was pretty good too. I watched a video of him yesterday by chance.

Honorable mention to Terry Kath and David Gilmour. Both incredible guitarists.

Gordon Lightfoot. Maybe the best voice in modern music. My opinion.
