Muddy Waters. I doubt anyone can argue his credentials.

Sturgil Simpson! Ripping player, singer, song writer.

BUT none of this matters because the best song is always the winner and only requires adequate singing and playing.

That's like saying Jack Nicholson plays Jack better than anyone else!

Don;t forget Ty Tabor of King's X. A decent singer, and a great guitar player. Him, Doug Pinnick, and Jerry Gaskill also do killer harmonies, especially on the first 4 King's X albums.

How 'bout Dewey Bunnell and Gerry Beckley of America. Saw them recently - their playing is impeccable and they didn't ruin their voices by screaming through the '70's.

Well, you have to admit, Jack is extremely good at it! I think it’s like destiny or something.

It’s just like Bob Dylan. He has the perfect voice for Bob Dylan songs.

    And Johnny Cash... :D

I almost hesitate to say John Oates and Peter Frampton. Both are putting out their best music ever.
