Joe is likeable, professional, talented, gives his all to his listeners. A great singer as well as a great player.

I suggest that he should create some weird, off the wall, crazy-sounding music once in a while. Make some slightly ugly and bizarre sounds, like Page, Hendrix, Beck, Walsh did back in the day. (Maybe not Clapton.) Take your fans to a new place, Joe.

I'll admit I like him and have bought some of his CD's & DVD's.
He comes across as a likeable chap who loves of most genres of guitar music.

    I like him.

I think a lot of people don't care for him, or John Mayer because they don't look musciany.

I can give him lessons in guitar sounds he's never heard before. I'll accept his Les Paul Spot as payment. :D

I respect the man's talent, but find him to be quite boring to witness live.

The guy can play. I don't care much for his voice, and he can sometimes sound predictable and generic, but he's got some nice chops and some good tunes, plus he's a journeyman and puts out an amazing volume of work. I don't own a lot of his stuff, and a lot of it doesn't move me, but I think he deserves whatever praise he gets.

Hey, come on now team, someone’s dropped the ball on this. We’re three pages in and no one has posted a video of him with Jimmy Barnes covering Deep Purple and said they like him in this context.*

Nice guy and decent human being.

    Plays guitar well.

Way better than average marketing and PR chops.

I've been to see him live, and it was one of the best shows I've ever seen. None of that grinding you down with tales of his own greatness, nor home spun stories lasting half the show, a voice came up and said: This is Joe Bonamassa, and he hit it for the next two hours and fifteen minutes. He even played through the band's break. I AM A FAN!

I think he's a great player, don't like to watch him with the shades, but seems like a nice guy and knows his vintage gear.
Anyway, he's got Michael Rhodes as his bassist, so he must be really cool. Michael is REALLY cool!

Old guy with great toys doing what he loves and somehow still making money in the music biz...Jealousy is what you see on the forums.
I'm not a fan but I would trade my job for his and be thrilled.

I'm not pointing any fingers but I think this speaks to a larger paradox. Roughly after the passing of SRV it seems like the level of evaluation of guitarists, especially blues players, skyrocketed. I don't want to imply that SRV's death is directly related, but it sure does seem like it was shortly thereafter that the critiquing just exploded.

It's almost as if there is a fear of allowing somebody to approach or reach legendary status and join the already established list of legends.

I like him well enough when I occasionally hear him somewhere. But not enough to seek his music out or buy anything. I guess that doesn't constitute being a fan? I don't hate him, but there are a lot of other people who's music I seek out - his I don't.

I've been checking him out since he was but a kid. Great player.
Seems like a nice guy. Collects nice stuff. Takes his "tone" very seriously. Works hard at his craft.
I like his playing, but yet-have never really heard an original JB song that "moved me" so I wouldnt say I am a big fan.
But I have never found a reason to dislike.
Except maybe that he is loud. I mean really, really loud. I mean need to rein it in loud. Crazy loud.
O.K. I am envious of his playing skills, gear collection and he is way too loud.
    I hate the guy.

I like him. He is a real talent. And he uses the same red beer washer strap keepers I do (the similarity ends there ).

I'm barely a guitar hack...wouldn't it be great to sit with some of these really talented guitarists one on one and have them say "now watch...I'm gonna teach you how to play this"? Then later, eat barbecue.

As a marketing genius/huckster/pandering to fans of the bendy solo and “blues face” part of a song/highly successful leader of a cover band ?

    Much respect.

Back when there were gigs ?

His per-gig fee had to have been astronomical to facilitate the purchase of all that old crap.
