His best, and easily a top ten Beatles song.

They were all brilliant song crafting geniuses (I miss ya blowtorch)

"Harrison wrote the song in early 1969 at the country house of his friend Eric Clapton, where Harrison had chosen to play truant for the day to avoid attending a meeting at the Beatles' Apple Corps organisation."

Something...,Here comes the Sun..., are we maybe not recognizing the most powerhouse beatle of them all? Imagine being in a quartet with Lennon and McCartney fighting through those dudes to get your songs in! Just puttin out a George appreciation thread. Songs I definitely love to play. Pretty sure you do to.;)

Yeah I agree more or less - George was a very consistently good songwriter. (As I said in another thread I like the Indian-styled songs too.)
Here’s a real favourite from his solo career - the closing titles song from Time Bandits, Dream Away:

(John and Paul weren’t half bad either… I Don’t Want To Spoil The Party might be the one to give John the nod there… and I am a fan of the Ringo-credited songs too, simple though they tend to be.)

I’ll echo something that I heard La and Chi say a few days ago. Paul was the best COMPOSER in the Beatles (acknowledging that George Martin was the best arranger, technically not a Beatle)

Take 5 is generally credited to Paul Desmond- the story I heard was that Desmond came up with the theme and the band worked it out collectively.
