That look like these and are solid metal with *no plastic insert* as some have ? These are exactly what came on my 50's classic but $18 is ridiculous for 2 knobs. cheapest i found it $13 but even thats a bit more than i think 2 knobs should be. So b4 i buy them anyone know of a cheaper price on them?

Sometimes you just gotta get the good stuff. Think of it as a gift to your guitar.
Isn't 18 dollars in California like 4 dollars in Mississippi :?::lol:

I picked up some AllParts knobs a year or two ago from an eBay seller.. They were like $12-$13 bucks shipped.. Watch out for cheaper knobs they feel cheap..

Make sure whether you have 1/4" or metric pots too before ordering knobs. Allparts are good quality but the knurling is not real heavy.

The $38 Callaham heavy-knurl knobs aren't the cheapest, but in my book, they're the best.

But the AllParts knobs ain't bad either, really.

Some things are better bought on discount. Like 3 sets of # 5167 saddles as part of a larger Stew MacDonald order.

But trying to pinch pennies on a solitary set of domed Tele knobs is a good way to get your day ruined. The shipping can so easily wipe out whatever hard work you did shopping for the lowest price. These are the kinds of things (domed Tele knobs) you trade with your buddies for, or get a half dozen sets of these wonderful Showmaster knobs from Darren Riley when you order those saddles and pickups from him you've been thinking about. Think about economies of scale and about free shipping over $ 99 and stuff like that. Because the per item price is only a small part of the picture.

This is what the farmer in Vermont or West Virginia is trying to tell you when you ask for directions and he says "you can't get there from here". Don't hit your head against the wall; find a new destination instead.

I ordered 3 sets of the Showmasters this morning and it turned out Darren has a nice sale on Lindy Frailin pickups so I ordered a set of Blues Specials to drop into the 2008 Road Worn I bought yesterday.

    I love saving money..
