Who is your favorite fingerstyle guitarist on the scene today,, not yesterday. They have to be alive.

Since 1953, if memory serves.Django is no longer playing because right now he's dead.

Maybe he meant Django Rhinestone. Very obscure guitarist. So obscure that he doesn't exist.Django is no longer playing because right now he's dead.
Eric Skye has a nice tone also.
Martin Taylor was on my radar and in a guitar magazine interview, he said he was playing upstairs in this fancy expensive hotel. As Martin was done and leaving, he heard solo guitar over at the quick restaurant they had in the lobby. Martin stopped and his jaw dropped. There was Tuck playing solo guitar.Tuck Andress.
He would also break off the ends of hair combs and use them. I wonder if the combs and buttons were real tortoise shell back in the day? Talented player.Since 1953, if memory serves.
He also used picks, and sometimes buttons, for picks.
Anyone remember Steve Towner in Atmospheres?Ralph Towner and Steve Herberman.
I really like that about his style. I also like he doesn't request traditional woods but backs and sides of cocobollo instead of mahogany or maple.I'm another big fan of Eric's. Its kind of interesting that his guitar of choice is a small bodied SCGC acoustic, not the usual big old archtop.
