I have this broadcaster reissue that this came on. It didn’t look like one I’ve ever saw before so I removed it and put on the proper barrel type.

Funny that you started this thread, as I've been thinking about switch tips. Sorry I can't answer your question, however.

I had been looking for a spare barrel tip that has a small rebate in the tip. I have a couple of them and there's just enough "bite" for me to catch it with the tip of my pinkie when it's switched to the bridge position. In researching this for you, I see that Rutters made these - the bottom two shown here: https://ruttersguitars.com/tips

Of course, this now becomes irrelevant, since a couple of months ago, I picked up a couple of the angled switch plates like the ones shown here: https://ruttersguitars.com/knobs

Yesterday, I "installed" one of the top had style switches I had sitting around and found it to work well with the new, angled orientation of the switch.

Are we sure some Broadcasters didn't have those?
I've never seen it before but I'm not that much of a historian

FWIW - I found the the switch tip on a smaller size Kitchenaid Mixer fits the PU selector on a Telecaster. I suppose there are a lot of other retro devices that use the same plastic switch tip.

Yeah I’m sure this is just a switch tip from a older something. May not be tele tip at all but it fits perfect.

I don’t know if it’s true, but apparently some old tube testing machines had early ridged telecaster barrel tips and people will source from them and similar machines/appliances

I bought a vintage switch tip a while back and highly doubt it’s origins was a tele

Forgive me if I’m wrong but are you the guy with the Chris Fleming reproduction? Is that what it came off of

Yes I am. I actually couldn’t remember where is came from but this pic is when I first got this. You can see it there. I mean still almost 20 years old and probably a few owners so who knows where is came from F508BF3A-0D7F-4912-BBE2-58CEF221024C.jpeg
