Not me. Son in law is a car guy. He has a WRX and a Toyota GR Corolla Morizo.

He had another WRX with racing seats, restraints and other performance accoutrements but sold it a friend after my grandson was born. It’s now totaled of course.

In another life I drove a 1973 E9, which was a privilege I remember fondly. It had no peer in its day, but for maybe a 911 or two.

My wife and I firmly believe that life is too short to drive boring cars. Hence we share an M2, a Boxster, and a Macan S for going to the store.

I currently drive a fairly pedestrian Toyota Matrix, that for some reason everyone calls "sporty". That word has definitely lost some meaning in these lean times. It's an automatic, which I wanted at the time when I bought it, but then started to regret about a year later. It's a "fine" car, but it's boring. Boring is good, but I want exciting boring!

I'm currently having some housing and employment uncertainties, but my plan for this year was to get into a Civic Si, Mazda 3 Speed, or perhaps a Miata. More than anything I miss driving a manual transmission, and I feel pressed to have one one last time before they're all gone. I'd almost settle for a Corolla S or even some slow af pickup truck, or similar. I'm so desperate to use my left foot I don't even care if the car is fast. I just want to shift gears and listen to the engine wind up and down.

These days, the only time I see someone driving a car with a manual, they're really really bad at it. Salt in the wounds! Salt in the wounds!

mhea.. i can't afford the traffic/speeding fines to drive a sports car ...properly...

I've never considered the roads as a place to have "fun" anyway....;)

I just edited my previous post to make it more fitting for a guitar forum. We have always driven "fun to drive cars", here are a couple along with some fun to play guitars

1963 Morgan plus four with a couple of my guitars, a long scale 12 string and wood bodied tricone

1975 BMW2002 with three guitars also from the 70's

Sorry to you guys who gave me likes on the previous pictures, I thought these fit better

I regret not having the money when a buddy offered me a 100% restored '71 2002 for $2,500. Arrrgh...

I haven't had a fun car since my Triumph Spitfire Mk. II back in the 70s. My microeconomics has enforced practicality since then, damn it.

Not a two seater, but had a midlife crisis and bought a Lexus GS350 F Sport for a bit. Didn’t keep it long.

That’s about as sporty as I’ve ever gotten carwise or probably ever will again. I don’t need that much car and don’t wanna spend my money on that anymore. I scratched the itch, but priceyish fast cars are wasted on me.

My daily driver of 18 months is this little guy from 2015. It's a 2 litre and gives only 162bhp on UK fuel, but it only weighs 1000kg, so it gets going well enough to have fun. Honestly, with the top down, more than 60mph is gonna tear your hair out anyway.

I'm 6'6 and 250lbs, and it is a rather tight fit. But I fit. It's the perfect vehicle for getting one guy to the office 4 days a week via 25 miles of narrow English country lanes. It replaced a slightly older Mazda, and it will likely be replaced with yet another one newer. I can't get enough, and I can't think of any serious competitor in the category and price bracket.

My current fave is a 2018 BMW 440i (twin scroll turbo inline 6, 6 spd). It gets good mileage, while being SCARY FAST!!

Last car was (still have it) a '95 Chevy wagon, with a "buncha" mods. REALLY quick! But, hauls family as well as hauling azz!!!

First car was a '72 Chevelle... Had 2 Camaros and a Firechicken after ('76 & '79, '77 respectively)... But one of my fave vintage hot-rods was a '70 Olds 88! Large, fast, comfortable...

Two "cruizers" were MGB GTs... Bought the 2nd one 2 years ago, with the intention of installing an aluminum V8, and making it a "pocket rocket." It was to supposed to replace the 440i, and allow me to sell the 440i... Vintage iron is supposedly better than the new tech! Certainly less expensive! However, I lost interest, and feel really old and disinterested... The 440i is truly a "driver's" car!! Hard to beat!!!

Since I'm fairly certain my eighteen year old crew cab Silverado doesn't qualify...
Here's a picture of the only sports car I ever tried to acquire, but it was minus the side pipes.

When I was working for my dad during summers, his brother in law at the time worked with us. He had a '69 AMX, bone stock. He let me drive it once, and it was amazing. No matter how much I begged for two years, he would not sell it.

It's for the best, I would likely have wrapped it around some stationary object.

My first car was a 1980 Triumph TR7 that I bought in 1988. I drove that through 1995, although I did get a second (new) car in 1991 when my job commute changed and became too much to trust the Triumph on a daily basis. The pic is from fall 1989 at Afton Mountain VA along I-64. (This is a picture-of-a-picture so the proportions are slightly off. I really should scan the original photo which is in a frame since it's the only pic I have of this car.)

And, I've owned a 2001 Miata LS since 2006. I went with the second generation Miata (NB in miata-speak) instead of an NA because my hardshell acoustic guitar case will fit in the NB's trunk but not an NA's. Sadly, she hasn't been driven for the past two years. Needs a good refresh. Although part of me thinks it may be time to just sell as is and then get an ND Miata like Metacaster's shown above.

This picture is from 2006 about a month or so after I bought her at a Fauquier County VA winery.
