Did the quarantine make you buy something you wouldn't have bought otherwise?

I picked this up the day before Washington State closed all "non essential" businesses. I'm still going to work every day, but I figured that it would be good to have something new to preoccupy myself with until things get back on track. PRS S2 Singlecut Satin.

The Telecaster of pianos. It’s a 1973 Fender Rhodes 73 key suitcase.
Picked it up 2 days before the store was mandated to close by governors executive order.

I pulled the trigger on one of these from Guitar Center yesterday. They were recently discontinued, and are only available in the black (would rather have had the brown), but still a good deal for $590 all in. They’re going from $520 used on Reverb, so it seemed like a no brainer. If I don’t like it, it’s going back.

Around this time of year I am delaying purchases until my new tax year, so I make a list of stuff that I will be looking to buy come April.

As well as flatwound bass strings and electronic components, this year I am looking at a (real) tape echo unit and maybe a compact powered vocal monitor. With lockdown in mind I am considering a Ram’s Head Big Muff Pi kit and a 6G15-inspired build.

I bought a set of Filter Capacitors for my 65 Reissue Deluxe Reverb. I've been hearing some hum, and some pulsing, but been avoiding the inevitable . It's nearly 22 years old, so I figure it's due. I procrastinate over doing the work, then I have to remind myself that several lifetimes ago, I actually was an electronic technician, I can do this work. It's a good time to get to it!

The wife and I have been lucky so far. No quarantine here. She works at a retirement home giving care so she's still working. I've been retired for 14 years so no change in my routine.
Since September I have bought 5 Gretsch and 2 Squiers, 7 cases for them 2 amplifiers, a drum machine and a Boss multi-effects pedal.
Wife did tell me I couldn't buy buy any more guitars for a while, so I'll just keep busy playing the ones I have.

I wanted one of those, same color, and the price was tempting but I am going to hold out for an Epi TV yellow LP Special. I have had a humbucker 339 for several years and it's a player.

Kinda/sorta...... I bought a hoodie from American Giant. Made in USA, pretty pricey, but from everything I've seen and heard, first rate quality that will last (perhaps) forever. Watched a video from them, liked what I saw, and they also have quit making clothes for now, and are now making masks full-time. Supposed to be here Wednesday, I'll post a picture.

Love that series from PRS--good price, somewhat understated, just a nice guitar that gets the job done. Enjoy!
