Did the quarantine make you buy something you wouldn't have bought otherwise?

No I didn’t. But my Neville and Xotic came the day before. Now I have two new friends.

Pulled out the stock pickups on my Vintera 60s mod Tele, for a set of AV58 pickups which arrived yesterday. The originals sound tinny and weak to my ears. I'm happy with the results.

    Legendary pedal.

As good as the TS9 within its category in my books.

Honestly you've made the right decision.

DI out on amps is notoriously bad. All my recordings use my Boss Katana DI out into Logic Pro and unless I heavily edit the raw files it sounds dreadful. Even after being heavily edited it still lacks the dynamics of using a mic.

I've wanted a P90 loaded Gibson for a long time and have almost ordered one online since this thing started. But so far I've stopped myself for a few reasons. I don't need it as I have a perfect Tele and an SG—and I've never bought a guitar without playing it. Buying a guitar online is something I'm weary of.

More importantly though is that it's hard to know how bad things will get and spending on non-essential things seems risky.

I imagine that as the economy contracts that some of us will be forced to sell off gear. I anticipate some low prices for used guitars over the next few months.

But man I really want a LP Special. I should order a few packs of strings though!

I sold a few pedals and a Fender Champion 20 to people to use during quarantine. I’m still working like nothing has happened though!

I have actually ordered ( I guess this is old school? I'm always behind on tech),
a webcam for my desktop computer ( never used one) and a tripod w/remote control ( for video) for my phone.

Both will be for hopefully doing some live streaming solo or duo gigs from my home.
I actually don't own a laptop which I understand has a camera ( my wife owns one, but honestly I don't know my way around it- still prefer a mouse!).

The webcam idea came from a call I got from the Activites Director at one of the 'regular ' Nursing home gigs I play. We are supposed to play there next Friday.

She wants to continue with music entertainment she has scheduled for her residents, bur wants to do it remotely by video conference, ' Go To Meeting.com.
network. - so shows would be broadcast on TV's throughout facility.
I have NO idea what to do, but I bet I will figure it out- get the camera, hook it up, and get the conference account software/app right?
Good way to keep a gig, and maybe open a new door for performance.

I've never played golf ( like to watch on TV) have a chronic bad back, but hear that golf is an easy, relaxing game, that's REALLY HARD to play well!

I know a few buddies that won't even play anymore as it got so frustrating - they can't stand settling for playing poorly, so they just stopped!

Glad that sentiment/dynamic doesn't stop us on guitar!

I would never buy an instrument at this time although I ordered one a week before the first reports of the virus and used gloves to open the box as it came from indonesia a week later. At this moment I am gassing for a new effects box as I'm getting bored with my board.

I am soooo on the edge. I have a Strat, Ibanez bass, LP and a Frankensquier. Really want a Tele. Looking at the American Performer as it as single and humbucker.

I want to buy a Tele kit and build one while I’m house-bound. Looked at Stew-Mac and really don’t know which kit to buy. I want a really good one. Any advice?
