i bought a vintera tele a couple of weeks ago and it has bumped all my others. this is the only one i want to play these days. this will not last forever, but i am really surprised at how much i love it. i do not know altogether what everbody else wants in a telecaster (yes, twang) but this thing has this ringing quality that i am getting addicted to. i know that the bridge pick up is supposed to be the main thing, but i seldom use it - i have only ever owned one telecaster that had a good bridge p-up sound. (or what i think of as a good sound) so i am thinking all kinds of things about telecasters. can i play hendrix and robin trower on a tele? i don't see why not. what about doobie brothers? sure, it works. black sabbath? well, with the right add ons, the right pedal and amp, possibly. steppenwolf? sure, most of their early stuff was an esquire. so i would like to know if anyone can tell me about some obscure but good players who used primarily teles. i know about terry kath, jimmy page, keith richards, albert collins and all the great country players. i also know that Funk #49 was recorded with a tele. but who else used one in the blues, rock and blues rock world?
