A guy I know scored one from a pawn shop the other day. it's in beautiful condition, the only thing is I never, ever saw a white Lester in my life. He researched the serial number and apparently it was built in Nashville in 2005. Has he got a prize or a fake?

The last scene in Groundhog Day, the guitarist backing Bill Murray has a gorgeous LP Custom that is white.

Yeah, white Customs are common. If you're talking about a white Standard, that's different. I have seen some, but I seem to remember they were from the mid 90s. Don't know about 2005.

    Lindsey Buckingham has one.
Lots of FM songs feature it.

Are you kidding? White Customs have been around awhile. I was tempted to get the Rondo version, but I feel like I should be next in line to the throne if I owned one.

I've owned a white custom, a white studio, and an 80's white standard with creme binding/trim and gold hardware. Pretty slick. Love white lesters. Not real common, but far from rare.

I'll get another custom one of these days. White customs are beautiful.

The guy in Manic Streert Preachers plays one. Not everybodys cup of tea.

I'm glad the guy got a prize. The thing is he got it for $800.00 at a pawn shop!! So some of these pawn shop stories are true. Good on him. Thanx guys.

Gotta be a Studio, right? Ebony boards on most of the White Studios - I really dig LP's with Ebony Boards.

(I'm sure if I had a nice R8 I would love Rosewood too)...

Yeah, $800 for a studio isn't all that great of a price. Fine guitar though.

Maybe to clarify - Yes, Gibson Les Paul Customs have been made in white (I have one from the proud Norlin era...) and St Randy is pictured above w/ one.
With time, travel and exposure to the "atmosphere" most of these guitars were played in, they don't _stay_ white. They acquire a lovely (to me) amber/cream tone that is either a result of UV damage or tobacco smoke.
When I bought mine it was already creamy/yellowy, so I don't know how soon it happens, or if it is possible to _keep_ it white.
While I love how mine plays, it's heavy enough to be a distraction.
    Peace - Deeve

His signature model is also a unique size. It has an oversized body, a wider fingerboard, and a 27" scale to accommodate his freakishly large hands. It looks normal in pictures because he is nearly 7 feet tall with his bucket on.
