How do you mic a melodic whistle through the PA without getting wind noise? The whistle at the beginning and end of “Jungle Love” is easy... it’s just a loud whistle so you just back away but something like the pretty whistling at the end of “Sitting on the Dock of the Bay”...how do you get that up to audible levels without wind noise or adjusting the mic volume?

Blow to the side. And you can also make notes breathing in.

Pop filter. Foam sock over the mic. You can adjust treble down. Some effects units have de-essers

Move away/off to the side, from the mic until it sounds right.
Takes practice but, people do it all the time.

In high school, my band and I did both Dock of the Bay and Daydream by the Lovin' Spoonful......both close out with whistling.
    That's all I got........

Mic off-axis, meaning get close but don't whistle directly into the mic. Maybe add a windscreen.
