I wish that I'd seen your post earlier...
i'v got the classic vibe butterscotch blonde, i put the toneriders vintage plus pickups,i like very much, special the bridge pickup.
but I'm thinking to change the neck with a seymour duncan mini sm1.
is there anybody out there who have chossen this pickup for classic vibe tele?
how it sounds?
Try a better tone cap before you pony up for new pickups.
The little brown .033uf poly chiclet cap in these probably costs Fender about 5 cents.
I used a Jensen foil in oil (stupid money yes) .01 cap in my Blond CV50. It sounds like someone plulled a blanket off my amp and a slight but noticeable increase in output as well.
I also tried Mallory and Sozo's they also sounded better than the stock cap.
If I had to describe it sonically, better clairity or more open sound....like better quality pickups.
When I need more mids or grind, I just crank it in on the amp or step on a pedal.
Definitely worth experimenting with....
