Which ones would you keep?

I'm up to 14 amps now, and, to be honest, it's time for me to sell some of them off.

I have one old Marshall up for sale on Craigslist right now, and I have a few others that are soon to follow.

I have finally decided that I keep too many things for sentimental value rather than actual value or useful purpose.

I know which amps I will lug to a gig. I know which ones sound just right in the music room. Two are drum-specialty-amps, and they are fixed their purposes (one lives in the music room along with the one Alesis digital kit, and the other one stays packed up for gigs with the other digital kit.) One amp stays at our girl singer's loft, for whenever we practice over there.

I even have one keyboard specialty-amp, and that one stays in the music room with the keyboard rack. It's crazy, I tell ya.

Some of them have to go, and it's not a matter of what the wife says, (she wants me to have everything my heart desires), it's just time for me to lighten the load.

If I drop dead tomorrow, she'll just have to sell everything off, and it scares me that she'll get taken advantage of, and somebody's going to walk off with all my gear for much less than it's all worth.

    :(

It's been my experience that when a wife starts giving ultimatums, the guy winds up without what he's forced to give up AND the wife. I know a lot of people whose wives "made" them give up their motorcycle. They sell the bike and the wife leaves eventually anyway. Stacked, those amps won't take up a lot of room.

To answer the actual question though, I'd keep the ones that would be hardest to replace.

    Get em some bunk beds!
Store the same amount in half the space.
Worked with my kids when we were just starting out in a small house.

I’d keep the swart and the Marshall 1974x sell the rest and buy a real blackface Princeton and a real blackface vibrolux reverb and you will have all the tones you’ll ever need.

Your profile says you are in Puerto Rico.

Which ones would be difficult to replace?

What kind of music do you play and what do you need to gig?

which ones do you play the most and which ones are there just because it’s cool to have them around?

did you build the tweed clones?

Don’t let other people make choices for you.

Swart, Fargen, Vox AC15, and Princeton (or DRRI if you're a gigging musician). This will have your bases covered.

Here’s a thought . Get a fractal clone all your amps and keep one Marshall one fender and the vox hand wired
That way you’ll still have all the tones you crave and a few more

    Or else .......................... ?

There must have been a very serious threat associated for you to consider this.

Ask yourself if one of your amps were stolen, which would you care the least about? Sell that one. Repeat a few times.

Then Buy a UAD OX, a Kemper or Fractal.
