This nice looking Telecaster is at a local Pawnshop and I need help determining what model it is. It's MIM and has nice pickups but I'm not familiar with the "Stacked Control Knobs" and the 9-volt battery in the back storage compartment. Any help would be appreciated. Serial number MX20xxxxx I think.

I'm confused by this because I've only seen the stacked knobs as stock on telecasters with the Fishman transducer saddles (which also requires a 9V battery), but that's not the right bridge for that, and if the Fishman bridge were replaced, there would be visible holes on the body.

It's an FSR they made for GC. The stacked tone knob is a mid boost like the Clapton strats. Think they made 250 or 500 in that color. I had one that was the blizzard pearl. A metallic silver kind of color.

    Good price?

    ...or pawn shop price?

    The grain looks beautiful.

Pawnshop price is $400.00 plus tax.
I apreciate the FSR reference but still can't find any detail on this sunburst Tele. Everything I've seen refers to the butterscotch FSR with the reversed control plate.

Call Fender with the serial number, they'll tell you exactly what it is.

Yep. I had one in Blizzard Pearl, too. They called it the 'FSR Player's Tele.' Pretty cool guitar. The Clapton boost came in handy for solos, but I was kind of underwhelmed by the noiseless pickups.

    Ask and you shall receive.

That link was perfect with every detail and even a video to hear it being demonstrated.
Thank you Naigewron - All the way from Norway.
