I replaced my jewel light with a hand blown oil lamp fuelled with oil from the spade-toothed beaked whale.

Electric jewel lights just draw off tone electrodes from the tubes.

Someone suggested I use an LED--I might as well trade my tube amp in for a solid state in that case.

I'm really digging the new line of Modelling Jewel Lights from Line6.

It's got '65 Twin, '59 Bassman, Marshall stack and Vox AC jewel light models.

Only problem is I have to plug my amp into my computer's USB port to change it.

    Amp In Vain

My amp was a result of a joint development project between Analog Outfitters, Jackson Ampworks, Dr. Z, Mr. T, Carol Ann, Two Rock, Three Roll, The Jackson Five, the Goldman Sachs Mortgage Backed Dept, NSA and the PTA.

    It has two lights.
    They are on behind.
You see, the blue light was my baby.
And the red light was my mind.

Now drop and give me 20!

I used to swap out jewel light covers at music stores around town when I was a kid. I went through all the colors available at the time. Green and blue were my favorites.

The bass player in an old band of mine used to be OCD about his jewel light. At gigs he would change colors between each set, and during practice it was about every 15 minutes. Weird.

Don't eat the purple one. There are some bad purple jewels going around people, DO NOT EAT the purple ones.

I read somwhere that a relic'ed jewel lamp would get you that "vintage " tone

Straight dope from Cesar Diaz, SRV used NOS Purple Jewel's but... here's the secret. A separate filament transformer wound with LEFT HAND WINDS powered it.

I swear it's the secret to his tone. Or it could be the "Custom" sticker behind the bridge.
