Which jewel light has the best tone?

I know this has been discussed before sorry...

But the red jewel lights are not the best. My 66 Super Reverb sounds great and all, but the stock red jewel light is holding it back.

Has anyone tried the amber jewel light yet? I play a lot of blues and country, mostly clean tones, and I need a jewel light color that will help bring out the best in my amp.

My friend wants a couple of blue lights for his amps. I bet those sound good. I don't really like the green ones tho, perhaps a nice teal color would do the trick.

    Suggestions appreciated thanks...

The blue one is the real secret to Victoria's tone. White is only good for jazz.

I am thinking green or purple, which do you think would be better for funk and psychedelic rock? The amp is a Deluxe Reverb Reissue.

I just went with amber on my custom Deluxe. It looks sweet with the wood cabinet, brown face plate, and wheat grill cosmetics.

It's not the color that matters. First you want a jewel light that's made from tone glass. Then the light is able to pick up tone from the fingers that install it.

I have a blue jewel in my Twin and the secret is that it is made of Dilithium Crystal which makes it easier to achieve Warp Factor 10 when playing loud.

Vintage is the way to go. Doesn't have to be NOS, but the repros from China just don't have the tone.

Red. If stock was good enough for <insert guitarist here>, it's good enough for me.

I've done the true bypass mod to my jewel light and the dramatic increase in the amount of tone is obvious. I recommend this for any amp.

I disagree. I have the white one and it's good for rock and blues too.

No no no. You are WRONG!

Mine is wired out of phase. That's the most perfect way to run a jewel light, and anyone who disagrees is an idiot.

I'm into the cobalt blue ones. They remind me of taxiway lights at an airport.

I prefer the old DRAKE faceted green lights myself.

They project an aura of elegance and sophistication, that women find utterly seductive.
