I don't care how nice they are (and I've played a Suhr Strat, the neck was to die for) I can't get over that headstock that makes them look like a Sears catalog Fender copy

+1 gave me pause for years, and apparently many others as my local shop is dropping them "can't sell 'em" and I see huge numbers of them long term on used racks. If you can get past it they are a great way of getting a lot of guitar for a fair price..

My personal no go at the moment is James Tyler, but that may be more about the graphic than the shape....on rethinking the shape is really bad also.

Gee, I always thought Epiphone (and I have three), but after being reminded by the others above, I don't feel so bad about the Epi now.:)

    In no particular order:
    Musicvox
    Tyler
Those ones that look like a "thumbs up" silhouette.

That said, it's a safe bet someone is thinking how awesome these are.

Indeed the Tele was always one of my favorites, apparently not a universal view..

I'd have a hard time with the headstock on the ES line of Heritages. But I agree that D'Angelico is right up there.

Lindert made the thumbs up headstock.
    Fugly indeed!

I greatly dislike the “long”, post 1963 (Gibson) Epiphone headstock.
The older, short headstock looks much better.
The Colling “haircut” looks a little weird, too.

Seagull acoustics. Great, great instruments, though.

    Epiphones are off-putting, too.

I think it works well with the traditional arch tops, it does seem a bit much on the import line of acoustics, and Gibson style electrics. I saw a guy busking an original over the weekend at Chelsea Market and it looked and sounded divine..

I've come to love the awkward bump on the G&L headstock, in the same way I think of Harley's underbite as being cute.

IMG_0077.JPG I always thought Heritage headstocks were ugly.

You just need to choose one with more bling.

Just been thinking about this again and I saw a Stevie Ray Vaughan video (Couldn't Stand The Weather) the other night and he was playing a "Hamiltone" guitar.

I'd never even heard of that brand beforehand. Although the guitar sounded great, the headstock and decals down the neck looked awful, IMO. Still, it takes all sorts....

Those were inlays rather than decals.

I thing Rev. BFG gave him that guitar.

Supposedly, he used that guitar in the video because he didn't want to get his other ones wet.

Though it is in the Cold Shot video too...

Hell yeah. My Daphne has an underbite and she wouldn't be her without it!

I don’t hate it, but I’m definitely glad I don’t have to do the binding on it.
