Aint nothin like a Tele with a Marshall.

What I have here is a Chicken and an Egg.

I've posted the Tele Marshall thing before but it deserves another look.

Well... the first chicken-pickin' Tele appeared (as the Esquire, of course) in 1950, while those "eggz-cellent" JTM45s first came into being in 1962... ;-)

But as to who first decided to plug a Fender Telecaster into a Marshall amp and crank it – or when – hoo nose? ;-) (It was defintely one "shell" of an idea though... ouch, sorry.) ;-) CS

I was watching something on TV awhile back and they were showing footage of a lot of guitar players down through the years. There was some black-and-white footage of Booker T & the MGs playing live, and Steve Cropper was playing his white-on-white Tele into a couple of Marshall half stacks. I was pretty surprised. Unfortunately, they had the audio covered up by someone talking.

I wish I could say that joke "cracked" me up, but all it did was leave my brain scrambled.

Man, I really hate you guys. I work in a building called "The Egg," which houses two theatres, and is actually shaped like an egg. No musician or comedian who has ever walked through the doors has been able to resist making horrible egg puns all night long.

...And here you guys are laughing it up, as if it was all some sort of great yolk!

As far as Teles and Marshalls go, I've been doing it for years, and don't plan to stop untill I'm playing through a homebuilt - which I expect to be based on the 18-watter anyway.
