I know it’s crazy, I just finished my deluxe reverb build but I have the bug. So far I have build a 5e3 and a blackface deluxe reverb. I want something similar but a little different. I have owned several vintage Princeton reverbs and they are good amps but just a bit small for my taste. Suggestions please.

I forgot to mention I have these laying around doing nothing. I don’t know if and what builds they would work on. I used the same ones on my 5e3 build. I don’t have to use these on my next build but if I could it would be a bonus. 53908344-F317-4DEC-A45F-6D939F3DF8B3.jpeg

Those transformers will make 2 x 6V6 or EL84 amps. Tweed era or 18Watt Marshall types.

The PT could make a big bottle single ended amp but it would need a SE OT.

A Marshall would be nice. Which models fall into the 18 watt category?

I second the motion that you sound like a man who needs a baby Marshall.

The two big circuits in the 18 watt category are the trem, or the treble/mid/bass version.

It's 2-3 more kits down the road for me, but I see one in my future. I'll probably build every sub-20-watt kit on the market eventually.

As someone who has built three tweed Fender style amps, I vote for building something whose original company name did not start with "F," "M," or "V." Dare to be different!

Well, maybe Magnatone allows one to violate the "no M" rule...

I tend to agree with @David Barnett , as that would give all there of the best Deluxe models, that in actuality sound uniquely different from each other! You'll have a complete set! :D While I personally have little desire for a Deluxe Reverb, the 6G3 Deluxe intrigues me as a welcome addition to my glorious 5E3! ;)

Matchless would be cool. Tricky, but cool.

I just finished this one. Cleans are pristine and the OD rocks. Comes with full and complete step by step instructions as well as high quality parts. You may not need the step by step as I did, but they were a great source of info.

Would the transformers I have work with the 6G3?

Marshall 1974 would be my suggestion.

I also came here to write 6G3. I'm thinking of building one myself.

Edit to add that I did some searching, and some members here have used that PT for 6G3 builds... but it looks like the OT is meant for a 5E3 specifically.

    Paging @dan40

I think that output transformer would likely work OK. Although Mojo specs a 7K primary, the same as for a Blackface Deluxe Reverb, while ClassicTone (it's nice that their website is currently still up and running for reference purposes :D) specs a 6K6 for a Blackface Deluxe Reverb. Fairly certain it will work,, just not sure how it will sound. Could be good, could be not? You may find that it requires a different impedance speaker to be its best? Likely a 4 ohm, but 6K6 and 8K are close enough, that it may not be so bad at all! The PT should be just fine!
