So my old Peavey Vypyr 15 broke down a while ago and i was looking for a upgrade either way, so Which amp should i go for considering i would want a big telecaster sound for hard rock and punk (i have a standard tele). I would want to play at low volumes at home but have the possibility to play live mic'd up. What do you guys sugest?

I’ll always recommend a Princeton first. If $ is an issue, than a blues junior.

Fender Champion 50XL has a lot of pre amp choices, a selection of effects and earphone outlet for home use. It's kind of like the Mustang without involving a computer.

Do you like tubes? Do you want solid state? Some kind of digital or analog modeling? Do you like menus and options or simplicity? For tube amps, Princeton, Blues Jr, Pro Jr, AC15...all well loved and reasonably priced. If you want solid state check out the Champion series. Simple modeling amps include the super champ, Roland cubes, Vox VT...lots of options. If you like more control and effects you might check out the Boss Katana or Mustang series.

Roland Blues Cube (Hot, Stage, Artist - You decide). Excellent SS sound, attenuator for low or higher wattage, durable and light weight.

It's a really good quality amp. Two channels, one with Fender cleans, and the second with tons of other amp choices.

    Edit: Fairly light weight too.

Still going with modelers? There's some very expensive ones out there but I'll suggest either a Superchamp X2 or a Champion 40 or 100 (kinda loud that one) both Fenders with some very fine sounding Fender sounds Tweed/Blackface/Supersonic.

The Metal offerings are pretty standard and the Vox stuff is...Vox like. That's to say I don't use those. Good luck with your search

How do those compare to say a Pro Junior or Blues Junior in volume and sound quality? Do you happen to know from experience?

Player a Blues Junior once and was blown away with those cleans! Gotta consider that one as well
