Over the years I've had a Catalinbread WIIO, Joyo British and AC Tone, SansAmp Classic, Mesa V-Twin, etc... etc...
I have no problems with "amp in the box" pedals or modelers.... I've been using them for decades (along with my traditional gear).

Here's a shot of old meets new....
My Rockman X100 from the mid 80's along with my Helix LT

Not shown is my HD500 (backup for my Helix) or my Zoom G3.

I still have my Rockman Bass Ace, the bass version of the Rockman from 25 years ago. I found it a few months ago and it still works.

I did my first "recital" about fifteen months ago with a Joyo AC Tone, juiced by an Xotic SP Drive (= Marshall in a box into Vox in a box). For the next two recitals I used a Boss GT-1 for everything: its Orange amp sim for crunch tones, acoustic sim for cleans.

Haha I had a Rockman X100. I loved that thing.
I have a Catalinbread WIIO . It's odd. Frankly I can get a lot of milage out of a Digitech DF-7.
I like the Lovepedal HPTT, and I've been using that a lot.It bonds with the '68 Princeton very nicely.

Joyo American is probably the best $30 I ever spent. About 90% of the sounds I like are in that little box.

It looks like everything except the California in the character series has been discontinued.

Well, for that Charlie Christian or Junior Barnard sound I got me a Nocturne Brain Jr. Barnyard. Kind of niche, but it does what it does wonderfully!

I use an AMT SS-20, sounds great. Mostly use the clean channel.

And also the BMT TubeWizard :

They both have tubes in. And FX loops, cab sim.

Amazon still has the American, the California (Mesa), and the AC Tone, but all in limited quantities. They now have the 306 Rushing Train, 307 Clean Glass, 308, Golden Face, 309 Boogie Master and 310 Orange Juice. I haven't tried any of them.

The HoTone Binary looks interesting as well.

Just realized most of my drive pedals are amp-in-a-box.

    Catalinbread DLS
    JHS Charlie Brown
    Boss Angry Driver
    Wampler Euphoria

My favorite dirt pedal is still the Fulltone Plimsoul; though not an amp based perse.

I don't use much drive on the pedals because I like playing lower wattage crunchy amps. I generally set the level up to push the amp. Pedal just boosts and shapes the tone.

Perhaps it's unkind to perpetuate this issue by bringing it up...it's been discussed here before. They have had a tragic misfortune befall them and as a result they are not the same company they once were.

But I hope they can recover as my Belle Epoch is my favorite pedal and my only "always on" pedal. Because of that I wanted to try some of their other ones.

My first one was a Rockman that I bought in the mid-80's. It got lost or stolen at some point.

About 23 years ago I bought a Tech21 SansAmp GT2 that I still use from time to time.

I also have a Korg AX1000, Behringer V-Amp 2 and DigiTech RP-350 that I used at different times. The Korg no longer works. The Behringer has a couple of broken knobs and its software no longer works right. I occasionally use the RP-350 for a few specific effects.

More recently I use Hotone Nano Heads that are more teeny-tiny amp than pedal.

My most recent purchase is a Mooer Radar which is more of an IR loader with an amp power section and EQ added in.

(the dead images are MXR 5150 and Supro 1305 pedals) These are the ones that come to mind. They are all great, in their own ways

Tech21 character series pedals. Blonde (Fender) is great, but I really like the Leeds (Hiwatt) as well for a unique in between US/UK sound.

As one of the unwashed-non-believers please tell me what the HX stomp box is?
