I was originally looking for the cheapest 4x12 with V30's in it, but I stumbled across a guy selling a 4x12 Road King that is a 3/4 back cab with the closed back side having V30's, and the open back with Black Shadow C90's.

    1 - Line 6 412VS - $275 - 4x12 with V30's 4/16 mono, 8 stereo
    2 - Mesa Boogie Road King - $350 - 4x12 3/4 back (CB side is V30, OB side is Black Shadow C90).

I'm using this through an Earth Sound Research G2000 head (Dual Showman Reverb clone) and with a fuzz pedal on 97% of the time.

Its gonna be used in a punk/noise band in DIY basements, warehouses, lofts, etc.

I assume everyone is gonna say that the extra $75 for the Mesa is worth it for the wood alone. I also have an extra pair of V30's in case I dont like the sound of the Black Shadows.

    Thoughts??

Go for the Boogie. Couple bucks more but you can get your money back out of it any time.

...show up with $275. Tell Boogie Guy you're lookin' at another cabinet w/ 100% Vintage 30s for $275. The cabinet is too heavy for him to throw it at you...

haha....ya he was looking for $400, I told him $300, we met in the middle at $350, which I think is more than fair (looks like most MB 4x12's whether they are recto's or Road Kings go for at least $500 new).

    It's also Mint shape.

Agreed. I made arrangements. Should have a badazz new set up tomorrow:

Earth Sound Research G2000 (100 watt all tube handwired Twin Reverb clone from 1973) into a Mint Mesa Boogie Road King 4x12 with V30's and Black Shadows.

This thing will be loud and mean, and the cool thing is that this cab will be able to handle cleans a little better than if it was all V30's, but will still sound badazz for fuzz/distortion.
