Where/when do you do most of your music listening for enjoyment?

Commuting is my easy answer because that's mostly when I'm listening to (or rather binging) music. But the real enjoying part is when I'm at home lying down in my bed, putting a whole album on and just "listening" to it, not just "hearing" it.

Give 'em the beans!
In the car, and while working.

I'm lucky enough to work from home, and my personal computer is just a couple of button presses away. Speakers on lower volume or headphones if I want it louder, as my wife also WFH.

I have Foobar2000 set up to monitor not only my main music collection, but also my car sync folder, which makes it pretty easy to carry over from one to the other.

when I'm driving in downtown traffic or unsure of my route, I don't generally have music on, of if I do it's very low volume. You know, you turn it down so you can see better .

But if I'm say, heading up north to visit my mom, an hour and a half one way, I like to blast the newest tracks on my device

All the time. Definately on the road. At home, at work....I have a work playlist that is played over the work sound system...and encourage employees to submit music for the playlist as well.

Sometimes we have to play the 'clean version' as these folks listen to some vulger music. But I allow most...after all their supervisor (me) is a deadhead...which can be tough for some.

I listen to music all day long at the office. But since I'm working a lot of times it's more background than active listening. Also while I'm working out but that tends to be harder/faster stuff to keep me in that zone.

I guess I don't most of my real "listening" in the car. Which I'm in quite a bit. Also we have a room in our house that is designated "device free". There's a piano, record player and vinyl collection in there. We play records quite a bit. We feed our baby in there every night before bed while listening to vinyl.

I have a stereo in my workshop (3-car garage) . . . listen to country.
BT speakers in my attached garage (small workshop) . . . . . listen to playlist (everything but country)
BT receiver on my boat . . . playlist
New JBL BT speaker that hooks to a beltloop and follows me wherever I'm working . . . playlist.
BT headphones to listen to YT videos and SoundCloud tracks posted on TDPRI.
Rarely just listen to music in the house unless I'm working on something.

Late in the evenings, usually Spotify, 'cause that's where I discover new stuff these days.

Sonos home speakers, Chilling after work and then cooking and doing the dishes. My deal with the wife is that I get to blast away with the Blues and Prog Rock while doing kitchen duties with the door closed. Although lately The Allman's live at the Filmore is topping the charts at home.

While I was still driving and working, I’d listen in my car to music on a thumb drive. Now retired and not driving, it’s vinyl and my home stereo.

I don’t like to listen to music all the time, I’d tire of hearing the songs I love. I like to pick when and what to hear. I don’t like TV constantly on either, but she does.

A steel guitar engagment.
Mostly driving. Sometimes I'll put a CD in my old Bose Boom Box when I'm keeping up my drum chops and sometimes I have a u tube video playing in the background while hanging out here.

For many years, like 15 or so, I could barely listen to music (short commute, hectic job, little kids). This compressed my list to like a dozen total albums. Looking back, I missed a lot during the 2010s.

I use studio headphones and Spotify. My wife laughs at me with those hanging cables but I want to hear! Earpods, yikes. I still have CDs in my car.

In addition to driving, I listen when I do chores or in the evening. The chores part...is for when I revisit albums I have not played this century or when I listen to new to me things....

EDIT: I did buy a few CDs this year, actually :) Kinda matter of principle....

SXM in the car. Less talk, more music: 50s, 60s, 70s.

When I'm reading, I prefer light classical in the background...a TV station called "Music Choice". With bluetooth, it pumps right through my hearing aids like headphones.

On my runs. An hour or more of uninterrupted my time.

Also in my vehicle, but that is not always uninterrupted.

In the elevator or grocery store although they seem to know what annoys me.

Otherwise Bluesville or Deep Tracks on Sirius in my truck. My Cd's at home or music channels on Xfinity.

When I'm at my computer. Previously, I would have said in my car, but since retiring, I don't drive much.

Everywhere. I still have a few pre-Superscope Marantz receivers that are set up in my garage, shop and master bedroom with 1st generation Polk speakers. A new Marantz and Polks surround the TV in the living room, and SONOS everywhere else. I take the SONOS Move everywhere from the back decks to the bottom of the canyon when I’m cutting down trees. Literally, music everywhere.
