Where to get supplies?

I decided to try to polish my frets rather than take my guitar to a repairman. I need a fret guard and some fine sandpaper according to the Youtube videos I've watched. I went to StewMac and with shipping, it was almost $50. Is there a less expensive place to get supplies?

Thanks!

If you are friends with a luthier, or just a good customer, they may be willing to order from stew mac for you. Stew mac shipping is crazy for casual small purchases. Luthiers often have a stew mac subscription (or whatever they call it) that covers their shipping, and a lot of them make regular orders. Some have offered to order for me, but I haven't taken them up on it yet.

If there's a female type person in your life, ask her about the polishing blocks that are used on manicures. I know them by sight, but can't think what they're called. They work great for fret polishing, and they're cheap and easy to find. Walmart or any drug store is sure to carry them.

I got this on EBay about a year and a half ago. Fret guard and eraser, understring gauges. The string winder is a little noisy. Couldn’t find the seller. Less than $20
