I've been looking for these AmProII push-push pots and can't find them anywhere. What am I missing? I can find push-pull pots everywhere, but no push-push. Help?

I can google. I haven't seen anything, including the ones referenced above, that are solid shaft, like in a Telecaster. Nor are they name brand pots. I don't want chinese junks pots. I guess I'm more selective.

I’ve bought Hosco ones from Glued to Music that work great in my partscaster. I’ve also seen Stratosphere are doing them as well now which I guess could well be ripped from the very guitars you’re talking about.. :D

The push-push I've used are made by Bournes - I prefer CTS brand, but could only find push-pull in CTS

I don't know who makes the Fender push-push type pots, but you can find those pretty easy from Fender parts vendors - they have the provision for the button on top that you push instead of the whole knob moving up and down - I think they are called S-1 switches?

Here's one of the Fender S-1 pots - they come in different ohm values and some have different features

You do need to use the special knobs that Fender has, which are configured to work with these pots

The normal place to find these things is from the Fender parts diagram. A google search on "Fender American Professional II Telecaster Parts List" gets this as the first hit, which shows the Fender part number is 7713119000.

However, I can't find any of those pots available. The normal vendors (Allparts, Mouser, Digikey, etc.) have push push pots, but none have solid shafts. Your best bet is to just get a knurled shaft one and add a sleeve. Plastic straws work, but if you want to get fancy you can purchase brass sleeves from Amazon/Reverb/etc. I've used these hundreds of times and they work great. You won't notice a difference. As for the "Chinese junk pots" comment... CTS and Alpha are both making really good stuff these days (and for the last 15 years) and have manufacturing throughout Asia. Bourns are made in Mexico. All 3 companies make a variety of products in all price and quality ranges, and the stuff marketed for guitar use is reliably pretty good.
