Where do you recommend to purchase a nitro finished body? I am interested in a Mary Kaye transparent ash tele body.

I looked at Warmoth and they don’t use nitro.

TIA!

Definitely MJT. I've used two--Aztec Gold and Crown Royal Purple. I also just purchased a BloomDoom-finished Sherwood Green Strat body. He uses Guitar Mill bodies.

Guitar Mill sprays nitro and will do a "showroom" new gloss finish (for an upcharge), something I believe MJT is reluctant to offer.

I clicked on this thread via the avatar pick alone! LOL!!! Good ol White Castle... man... I've probably eaten 100's of em over the years... maybe even more LOL!!! We used to have contests, me and the boys back in the day, about who could eat the most in a single setting. That was when they were 15 cents a piece I think  You didn't want to be around any of us after that, however :oops:o_O

Ok anyway, to your question, I think you've gotten some good leads already. MJT, Stratosphere, Guitar Mill, etc. Good luck man, and please make a thread of your build when you get going on her, and ask any questions you might have about building

When I have asked MJT, they offer a closet classic, which is a very minimal relic treatment, but not a virgin finish. It wouldn't hurt to ask though, so they know what they are missing in terms of demand.

yeah no experience with guitar mill, but MJT sometimes lays it on reeeeaaaal thin. i have played some that were fine for my taste, but some relic’d ones where the finish comes off if you so much look at it the wrong way. IIRC the "NOS"-y ones i liked that i've played have been ordered direct, the ones that relic easily have been ebay scores...so maybe that has something to do with it.

i mean, that's not a dig, a lot of people are looking for that and their specialty is relics...but it can be a little much for me.

Frankly I would buy the exact unfinished body that you want, do all the drilling and make sure it assembles correctly, then take it to any one of the very good professional finishers (we have a couple on this forum) who can shoot exactly what you want. Mary Kay white is slightly tricky (so I've been told, I haven't tried it), I would want to know that my finisher had in fact done a few.

I saw BloomDoom reference Wildwood bodies as used by MJT. Quality bodies from my 3 experiences. My one experience with Guitar Mill has also been good.

I found MJT to be responsive and reasonable. But the finish on mine is really fragile. I want to order a single bound aztec gold body from them but am concerned. 485F973E-4D18-4814-9A50-B21EBE706B90.jpeg9A7336BE-6C32-4C4A-9F84-4A7B813CF309.jpeg12EB05F3-348A-4409-B2D4-18EFAE725A21.jpeg
