I have had if not the exact same problem, something nearly as devastating. Only last week, when I went 'round to the pharmacy to pick up my blood pressure medicine a cad stood between me and my meds, drizzling an amplified violin without mercy. I blocked my ears with the palms of my hands before his actions could have a devastating effect on my blood pressure, and forced myself to remain calm enough to secure my prescription. If it were not for this very forum, where I could vent my frustration, I would surely have ended up suffering from either cardiac arrest, or had a stroke brought on by the fearsome events of the day. Those people who only have to forage for food and shelter have no idea how difficult it is to cope in the REAL world!

I, too, had a very close call only this morning. You see, I was about to drive out to check on one of our employees and although I had the foresight of planning my route, I realized there was no place for me to break my fast. It was getting late in the morning when I pulled up to a Burger King drive through. Now, normally, I detest fast food but I was in a hurry and I thought I would get a healthier chicken sandwich. BUT... when I got to the menu, all I could see were BREAKFAST ITEMS!!! I was nearly out of my mind. How could I have been so stupid as to not realize it was 10:39am and not yet lunch time??? Suddenly, I saw there were other items on the breakfast menu and it looked like there were burgers AND a chicken sandwich. I tentatively asked the girl tending the intercom "Miss? Do y'all serve burgers and chicken sandwiches this early?" There was a long pause. My heart fluttered. "Yes, we do." It was as if someone reached down into that dark hole and grabbed my hand...

I broke a shoelace while preparing for my morning commute.

Whilst a proper box of spares was conveniently located as I am prepared for such disasters....
It did add three minutes to my normally six minute dash.

I suspect an extra Martini might be called for this eve.

"Jeeves? An extra olive what say?"

I was at Whole Foods today, and for the love of God, they don’t carry Pepperidge Farm bread.

Your heart wrenching tale had a happy ending! Showing once again, that even a complete stranger can be there for you when you least expect it.

Just remember to dress so that anyone would know were an officer no matter how poorly constructed your materials may be. The clothes do not the man make, but rather he them.

Oh no, that would eliminate too much of a meal. It is for aerial obliteration only.
