Every now and then the lead singer steps aside and lets somebody in the band take the microphone. One of my favorites...Brian May's "39"

    some others

Entwistle's "My Wife" from "Who's Next"

Andy Summers vocals for The Police were...shall we say...interesting:

chime in with other examples please.

Mike Mills takes lead vocals on a handful of R.E.M. songs — Texarkana is a belter:

And we started off with Brian May singing on a Queen track: the Brian or Roger songs are often highlights on their albums, imho. Loser In The End is an early classic from Roger Taylor:

I still like John Entwistle’s “My Wife”. I’ve heard it a couple of times on the radio recently.

Does Phil Collins before Gabriel left Genesis count? He sang lead on a few when Peter was still in the band, then seamlessly took over afterwards.

I think Roger Taylor is somewhat underrated. Probably because he was fully eclipsed by Freddy Mercury. This is one of my favorite Queen songs...

Early Eagles. They all could sing. Frey and Henley kinda took over the franchise, but I like the rare songs where Bernie Leadon took on major role. Bitter Creek is a good one and this one, Train Leaves Here This Morning:

Perhaps every one knows, but RMT sang the highest harmony parts with Queen.
I saw Queen in San Antonio in 1973.
    They were mesmerizing!

    11:35 in, Eddie takes over.
Eddie did a few Motorhead songs on vocals, but never liked his voice. Shame really, made a nice change.

More Queen with May singing. One of my favorite Queen tunes.

    What the hey...Roger Taylor.

This was a good demo song for car audio back in the day.

There were a few times All put aside his massive ego and let Izzy sing. One of my favourites is 14 Years:

Edit: I am currently internet inept. Please stand by.

    Edit 2: Better?
