Really glad you aren't any worse off. Think I would get another medical opinion. You might need further attention.

    Bad luck.

Let me guess, the driver who hit you was responding to Facebook posts.

    Exactly.

But don't count those chickens too fast, Shuster. You made it, but in time some underlying issues could crop up.

I will assume you (the OP) have UIM coverage in case the at fault car was reported stolen or is woefully underinsured. You're probably going to want to be under the weekly care of a trauma specialist. Staying with treatment is far and away, the best approach to improve your odds you won't end up disabled or troubled with lots of chronic pain. And the UIM will cover your medical, rehab and related expenses and "Hedonic" damages and lost wages if any. Better to use this approach only to find you've quickly bounced back, that to avoid the doctors so long that none will relate your later troubles back to this lousy event.

Sorry about your truck! I hate the lessons we take from such things such as "why didn't I just run that yellow light?" Statistically, you made the right choice stopping. Sometimes oddball stuff just happens. Take care.

Racing and drunk - or had unfinished business with the first car.

I still drive a lot, but I have cut back hard on driving on Friday and Saturday nights. They're the worst.

Date Night? separate cars? so she can go grocery shopping and you can get in a crash?

Next time, try doing a date together. No shopping, no crashes, no separate cars. Make it like a real date!

"We leave the restaurant, me following her, and she makes the traffic light,,, luckily!"

Wow, @Shuster! Congratulations on surviving. Hope you recover quickly.
If you're like me you're glad your wife didn't get caught by the traffic signal; otherwise, she'd have been first in line instead of you.

Wishing you speedy and complete recovery!

Was your wife aware of the accident or did she continue on and go grocery shopping?

I glad you weren't killed and your wife wasn't with you. It sounds to me like you need more medical attention.

At least you get a brand new truck. But that’s little consolation for an injured body. But having your wife escape this is awesome. Hope you heal completely.

Thanks Guy's, hurts to type! The insurance guy called, they totaled the truck, and then told me the driver of the other car, left the scene of the wreck???? How I ask??? His car was under my truck!! No word if they caught him yet.

My Wife never saw the wreck, only got a call from the hospital. I've never taken more selfie with people than today,, lol A few Bud's and I were going to the UFC fights this afternoon, now they don't want to go, and party here and watch it on TV. The Wife ended that quick enough, and wants to take me back to the hospital. I have put that on hold, if I feel worse, I'll give in.

My ankle has gone down, but my face!! It never was that purdy to begin with, but OMG I scared the c-rap out of my friends girl friend when she saw me. Rob Zombie can use me in one of his flicks, but an R rating will be tough:eek:. Honestly, I hurt worse when I wrecked my Motorcycle the last time, but that was me hitting the ground, then hitting the ground, etc.
My Wife has already called my shoulder Dr., our Attorney and Bitched out everybody at the hospital that would listen, and ready to sue the Dr. that released me!

I told her if I feel worse I'll tell her, my head has stop spinning, and I can see out of both eyes now! That was weird, one I eye was just a black spot, but that's gone now. I need to go soak my ankle some more, and smoke a beer!! Talk soon and Thanks for the well wishes!

Sending prayers, buddy. Glad to hear your wife wasn't in there with you. Trucks can be replaced...wives can't.

Some friendly advice...hire an accident attorney and don't make a recorded statement for your insurance company. You could collect big time for that...medical bills, truck replacement and pain and suffering. Good luck, man.

Wow. Wishing you a complete and speedy recovery. How are your thumbs? My parametic buddies have talked me into grabbing the steering wheel differently, because of the number of thumb injuries they see from airbag deployments. And thumbs for us players is a very important issue.

Get well quickly, Shuster, and stay well! And good for you for doing the 'date night' thing with your wife. (Despite attendant difficulties, of course.) Best wishes!

Jeez, man! So glad that you're essentially "ok".

I'll bet you're glad you were in a nice, big truck and not a little "smart" car.
