...I would play my guitar from the time I woke up 'till the time I went to bed, only stopping long enough to eat and use the bathroom.

When I was a teenager I raced lawnmowers for a year, then started playing the guitar and played all day every day including in school. (I'm almost 20, so I can post on this thread) :D

I lived and breathed guitar, I'd get up an hour earlier just to get and extra hour of playing before school, then work....

When I was a teenager, my dad was an ignorant old fool. Amazing how much he's learned over the years.

...my folks got a divorce, someone disconnected my brain, and the rest is a combination of stuff I want to forget and stuff I don't want to remember.

... I had endless fun sitting in front of a lovely Moog Modular with a dozen or so patchcords draped around my neck for easy grabbing, putting together [sfx=echo] the Sounds... of... the Future... [/sfx]

Endless fun. Until it ended. Wish I had that modular now. Ah well.

I constantly cut school to either surf or go watch the SF Giants at Candlestick. I always wished I could treat work the same way. However, surfing sucks in Texas and so do the Astros!

"The children now love luxury. They have bad manners, contempt for authority, they show disrespect to their elders.... They no longer rise when elders enter the room. They contradict their parents, chatter before company, gobble up dainties at the table, cross their legs, and are tyrants over their teachers."

"What is happening to our young people? They disrespect their elders, they disobey their parents. They ignore the law. They riot in the streets inflamed with wild notions. Their morals are decaying. What is to become of them?"

"I see no hope for the future of our people if they are dependent on frivolous youth of today, for certainly all youth are reckless beyond words... When I was young, we were taught to be discreet and respectful of elders, but the present youth are exceedingly disrespectful and impatient of restraint."

"Hey! You! Get offa my lawn!"

The studios I teach in still have a Moog. Around 1980, the director Peter Todd Lewis created a demo of the Moog. I digitized that and chopped it into a number of sound files for listening.

    Here it is: http://theremin.music.uiowa.edu/MoogDemo.html

My main synthesizers were a Buchla 200, Serge, Moog Sonic Six, and a Casio VL-1, believe it or not.
